Final Fantasy X Celestial Weapons unlock guide
Celestial Weapons are the new name for ultimate weapons in Final Fantasy X, continuing a classic JRPG staple. In order to gather the Celestial Weapons, you'll first need a new key item, the Celestial Mirror - and then you'll need to follow a few additional steps to unlock their true potential. This page is here to help you unlock all of the ultimate weapons in FF10.
How to get the Celestial Mirror
Before you work towards having Celestial Weapons, first you'll need the Celestial Mirror. As the names suggest, the two are inherently connected. FF10's Celestial Mirror is the key to finding the ultimate weapons for all of the party members in the game. It all starts with the Cloudy Mirror, which leads to the Celestial Mirror, which then leads to those unbeatable, ultimate weapons.
To acquire the Cloudy Mirror, you must first go to Remiem Temple in the Calm Lands. Once there, talk with the Chocobo that you'll see on the left-hand side of the temple in order to challenge it to a race. If you win the race, the Cloudy Mirror will be your reward.
In order to take that Cloudy Mirror and turn it into the Celestial Mirror you'll need to head on down to the Macalania Woods. At Macalania, you'll find a mother and son standing near the save point at Macalania Woods South. The mother will mention that her husband is supposed to meet her. Go to the Macalania Woods Campsite area and talk with the man on the right, who is her husband. Tell him where his wife and son are, and return to Macalania Woods South.
Talk with the mother and father again, and they'll mention that now their kid, who you saw before, is now missing. Run up the glowing path and you'll see the kid. Talk with him and he'll move.
Continue up the path he was blocking, and "talk" with the large crystal by pressing X or whatever the default interact button is on your platform of choice. The Cloudy Mirror will turn into the Celestial Mirror.
FFX Celestial Weapons: how to get every character's best, ultimate weapon
Each character in FF10 has a specific legendary weapon that can be acquired by using the Celestial Mirror, which you hopefully will have obtained using the guide above. These are the Ultimate Weapons for each of the characters. When each of the Final Fantasy X Celestial Weapons is first acquired, it will be equipped with the No AP ability. To remove this ability and unlock the weapon's full potential, you need to find two specific event items, Crest and Sigils, for each character.
As you go on this journey for each weapon, you can treat it as an ideal time to mop up any other things you need to, such as collecting the Al Bhed Primers.
Once that's done, you must then return to the Malacania Woods and use the Celestial Mirror to power up the weapon at the large spherical crystal high amid the treetops. Once powered up in this way, each celestial weapon is hands down the best weapon in the game for that character - making it ideal for the challenging late and post-game bosses.

How to complete the Cactuar Village Sidequest
To complete the Cactuar Village side quest, you have to find a bunch of Cactuar in the Sanubia Desert. We note the areas as follows:
- Area #1 is the screen with the Oasis
- Area #2 is the area with a Save Point below a tent.
- Area #3 is a huge open area with a save point
- Area #4 is in a screen with a Cactaur Stone in the North East.
With that in mind, here's a step by step guide to the Cactuar Village side quest. Remember that you'll need to sneak up on them to be successful:
- First, check the Cactuar Stone in area #4. Once you capture your first Cactaur, insert the sphere here - it kicks off the quest and makes the others appear.
- Find Tomay near the Oasis in area #1.
- Rovivea is running around the north-western section of area #2.
- Chava is hiding behind the Al Bhed 20% sign in area #4 - just examine it.
- Alek and Aloja are both running around the ruins in area #3.
- Vachella is hiding in area #2, at the save point - examine it.
- Robeya is hiding in a treasure chest in the south-western area of area #3.
- Isrra is running around the antlion pit in area #4. He doesn't always spawn - so if you can't find him, leave and come back.
- To find Elio, go to area #1 and follow it up to the airship. Head to the top of the airship (where you once fought a dragon) and you'll find it there.
- Flaile doesn't need to be found - he'll appear automatically.
