Dragon's Dogma 2 Mystic Spearhand - How to unlock and Vocation Guide

Of all the new vocations for Dragon's Dogma 2, Mystic Spearhand is one of the most fascinating to use in practice; as well as one of the earliest that players can potentially unlock. But where do you find it; and what can players expect from its moveset?

If you're interested in a more general guide for where to unlock all of the vocations in Dragon's Dogma 2, be sure to check out our list of Vocation unlock methods too; for anyone looking for a broader overview of the Vocation, read on!

Where to find Mystic Spearhand

Unlike some of the other advanced Vocations, Mystic Spearhand can be unlocked rather early in the game. The only real prerequisite is that players have already completed the main story mission Monster Culling; return to Melve after you've completed the quest, and you'll discover it assailed by a Blight Drake. While you can fight it normally; we have an extra tip that will allow players to gain access to the Vocation's Maister Skill, Wild Furie, early on; kill the Drake by making use of Melve's giant Ballista instead of driving it away.

After the battle, if you scan the battlfield you'll be able to find Sigurd. This former Arisen hunts the Blight Drake, and showed up in Melve as part of his journey. You'll be able to enquire about the weapon he uses, which will unlock the ability to use the Mystic Spearhand Vocation for yourself. Much like other advanced Vocations, only the Arisen can use this role; your pawn cannot equip Mystic Spearhand for themselves.

If, for some reason, you failed to talk to Sigurd before Melve's citizens after completing the quest Readvent of Calamity - you'll be able to find Sigurd in Harve Village. Failing that, you'll discover him later in the game at the Dragonsbreath Tower on the Southwest corner of the map.
