Prinny Presents NIS Classics Volume 1 launches on August 31 in North America, September 3 in Europe
NIS America has announced that Prinny Presents NIS Classics Volume 1 will launch on August 31 in North America, September 3 in Europe, and September 10 in Oceania for Nintendo Switch.
As a refresher from the announcement trailer and details from March 2021, this is a dual-pack release for Nintendo Switch that includes re-releases of two Nippon Ichi Software classics: Phantom Brave: The Hermuda Triangle Remastered and Soul Nomad & the World Eaters.
- Phantom Brave originally released in 2004 for PlayStation 2 and was the first title to be localized by NIS America. The game saw expanded re-releases on both Nintendo Wii and PlayStation Portable, before getting a PC port in 2016 with all DLC and previous content. The new version included in the Switch release will also contain all content from previous releases. The game stars Ash and Marona in a tactical RPG using a movement ring gameplay system.
- Soul Nomad & The World Eaters originally released for PlayStation 2 in 2007 and has never seen a re-release outside of a PSN digital version in Japan. In the game, the player controls a warlord who forms an army capable of either saving the world or destroying it.
Additionally, Soul Nomad & the World Eaters will also see an individual release on PC on August 31. Note that Phantom Brave already has a PC release, which should be functionally identical to the remaster included in this Switch collection.
