Rune Factory 4 Special comes to PS4, Xbox One, and PC on December 7
Xseed Games and Marvelous Europe have announced that PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC (via Steam) ports of Rune Factory 4 Special will arrive on December 7 in North America and Europe, priced at $29.99.
Rune Factory 4 originally released for the Nintendo 3DS in the early 2010's, followed by a port to Nintendo Switch in February 2020.
A mainline entry in the traditionally Nintendo-associated series branching out onto other platforms comes as some surprise. Porting such a gem as this should surely help to expand the franchise's international audience ahead of Rune Factory 5's western launch in March.
Rune Factory 4 Special arrives on new platforms with improved resolution and performance, while bringing all the farming, life sim, and RPG adventuring the series is known for. In addition to the visual improvements, the PC, PS4™, and Xbox One versions of the game include the ‘Another Episode’ DLC at no additional cost. ‘Another Episode’ adds a series of illustrated storybook-style episodes narrated by the game’s 12 marriage candidates, and Selphia’s lovable guardian dragon Ventuswill, fully voiced in English and Japanese.
An upgraded resolution will help Rune Factory 4 to shine anew, and improved performance is never not welcome. Additionally, this port will include the "Another Episode" DLC for no extra cost. The DLC features a variety of fully-voiced illustrated stories from all 12 marriage candidates.
