Ruan Mei reflects on life in new Honkai Star Rail character trailers

HoYoVerse released a new trailer for the upcoming version 1.6 update to Honkai Star Rail. Instead of on gameplay or story updates, the latest Myriad Celestia featurette focused on Ruan Mei, the game's upcoming banner character. The 1.6 update for Honkai Star Rail launches on December 27, 2023.

Titled "In All Does Life Flow", the trailer is narrated by Ruan Mei, partially in verse, and demonstrates her elegance as a member of the Genius Society.

Another "Myriad Celestia" trailer delves a bit into Ruan Mei's past, and her research expeditions with her mother in No Man's Land, where she became interested in researching the nature of life.

In combat Ruan Mei appears as a 5-Star Harmony-type unit with the Ice element. As a Harmony unit, she's a support-oriented character with a particular focus on increasing the party's Weakness Break Efficiency, Speed, and ability pierce enemy resistances. Ruan Mei also deals additional damage to enemies when other party members Weakness Break an enemy. Her Ultimate increases all allies' resistance penetration, and inflicts a debuff on enemies that causes their Weakness Break status to extend, delays their actions, and deals damage based on Ruan Mei's.

As a co-creator of the in-game Simulated Universe mode, using Ruan Mei's technique allows allies initiating combat to be treated as attacking the enemy's weakness, no matter their element.

Honkai Star Rail is available on PC, PS5, and mobile devices. The version 1.6 update launches on December 27, 2023, and in its latter phase, will give all players a free copy of the 5-Star character Dr. Ratio.
