Maneater surpasses 14 million copies sold since launch

Earlier this month, alongside an announcement of a leadership change within Tripwire Interactive, it was once again confirmed that the shark RPG Maneater has sold over 14 million copies since its release in 2020. This information was first shared as a footnote in an email in August 2023, in just a little over 3 years after the game's original release. We reviewed the game at launch, and generally enjoyed our time with the experience - though nothing outstanding.

Maneater is an Action RPG series where players take control of a Shark, in her quest for revenge against the obnoxious humans that have polluted the water of her natural habitat - and killed her mom. The game released for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC on May 22, 2020 - with PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S versions coming later that year. A Nintendo Switch port released for the game on May 25, 2021.

Maneater received a post-launch expansion, Maneater: Truth Quest on August 31, 2021. As of yet a sequel has not been announced, though with sales numbers like that it almost feels like a matter of time. Maneater is available now on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch and PC (Steam, Epic)
