Genshin Impact: how to see the whole Witness Sigil in the Land Amidst Monoliths quest

As you make your way through the various plot lines of Genshin Impact, you'll find yourself coming up against a wide variety of quests, some of which have fairly obtuse solutions. One such quest is the Of the Land Amidst Monoliths Archon Quest, which at one point gives you a simple-sounding task: Find a place where you can see the whole Witness Sigil. 

The quest, undertaken around the Wangshu Inn, asks you to observe a painting that's found on a wall of the inn and then go and try to find the symbol (the sigil!) that appears in that painting nearby. This could send you trekking across the Wangshu area if you're not careful, but the sigil is actually quite close by, as we're about to detail.

Where to Find a place where you can see the whole Witness Sigil in Genshin Impact

We're going to describe exactly how to find and line up the Witness Sigil for this quest below, but do check the embedded video above from Airyuken on YouTube if you'd prefer to have a moving visual aid - it's a short video, as this quest features a simple solution that once you understand it will leave you kicking yourself - it's just sometimes frustrating to initially find.

First thing's first - despite what we've seen suggested by some, the time of day doesn't matter for this quest. With that said, it's a visual thing, and some of you might find the Witness Sigil more easy or challenging to see at certain times of the day. We completed the quest in the day, while the embedded video at least begins at night before switching to daytime to get it to trigger. If you're struggling, try switching up the time of day - but it can be achieved at any hour.

After reviewing the painting on the first floor of the Inn, jump down to the ground floor and then out to the Balcony to the north-west. The quest marker will guide you just a short way away from the Inn, towards the nearby bridge. You actually want to head all the way down here, so you're on the cobbled, stony path that leads from the inn towards the bridge. It's down here that you'll find a spot to see the whole Witness Sigil. 

There's rocks down here with a dull yellow outline on them - and what you have to do is simply put yourself into a position where the rocks create one 'whole' sigil.

This is the trick, you see: the witness sigil is spread across three different rocks, and so in order to see the whole thing as one complete image, just as it is on the inn painting, you'll need to stand well back from the rocks, manuvering your character and camera until it looks correct.

It's a simple perspective puzzle. The game gives a little feedback - the witness sigil starts faded, but begins to glow a brighter and more vibrant yellow the closer you get to correctly lining it up. 

Once you've lined up the Witness Sigil and can see the whole thing in one go, the next phase of the quest will trigger, with Dusty Ming showing up and making a run for it. Chase her down and get into a battle, then eventually return to the Inn to complete this quest.
