How to evolve Charcadet into Armarouge and Ceruledge in Pokemon Scarlet & Violet
Like with every Pokemon release, Pokemon Scarlet and Pokemon Violet have their fair share of version exclusives; perhaps the most interesting pertains to Charcadet, and its split evolution into either Armarouge or Ceruledge.
While everyone can catch a Charcadet regardless of which version they opted to buy, in order to evolve one into an Armarouge you must be playing Pokemon Scarlet; to evolve it into Ceruledge, you'll have to play Pokemon Violet. On this page, we'll explain the full setup around how to evolve Charcadet into both forms on both versions of the game.
Where to catch Charcadet in Pokemon Scarlet & Pokemon Violet
While Charcadet isn't exactly a common Pokemon, the good news is that it has a chance to spawn in many parts of the Paldea region; sooner or later, you'll likely run into one.
It's a relatively small thing, so you'll want to keep a close eye out for it. While "very rarely seen" is a pain, we've found that sometimes idling in an area for a while can cause Pokemon to spawn in and then meander on over to you over time.
Generally speaking, though, you're probably better off and exploring the main objectives while keeping an eye out for one. For that, why not check out our Progression walkthrough, with advice on the best Gym order, plus when to do the bases and titans?
Where to evolve Charcadet in Pokemon Scarlet & Pokemon Violet
There's an NPC in Zapapico in the Eastern Region who will ask you for either 10 Bronzor Fragments in Pokemon Scarlet, or 10 Sinistea Chips in Pokemon Violet. If you hand over the requisite Pokemon materials you'll receive the Auspicious Armor in Pokemon Scarlet, and the Malicious Armor in Pokemon Violet.
Where to find Bronzor Fragments to get the Auspicious Armor
Pokemon Scarlet players, you're in luck; it's very quick and easy to find Bronzor and gather all the materials you'd need to get the Auspicious Armor. An easy spot to grind the materials out is the Ruins in Area Two of the Western Region.
Where to find Sinistea Chips to get the Malicious Armor
I'm sorry, Pokemon Violet players; despite the Pokedex stating you should be able to find Sinistea right outside of Zapapico, the truth is we scoured the entire area outside the city and simply couldn't find a single one. You'll have to journey to Alfornada and explore the Ruins directly east of the city; unfortunately, this means that the lowest level Sinistea we could find hovered around levels 38~41, not to mention all of the other Pokemon you can find around the area.
Once you've gathered the right materials, simply return to Zapapico, hand them over, and use the item on your Charcadet to get your Armarouge or Ceruledge. Congratulations!
