Pokemon Scarlet and Violet Dipplin: How to evolve Applin into Dipplin
The first half of the Pokemon Scarlet and Violet: The Hidden Treasure of Area Zero has dropped with Part 1: The Teal Mask, and with it the new region of Kitakami - filled with new and returning Pokemon alike. One of these new Pokemon is Dipplin; a 3rd possible evolution for Applin, requiring the brand-new Syrupy Apple evolution item. While Applin is simple enough to catch in both the DLC and the basegame - there's a whole Apple Orchard near the main hub of the DLC where it will spawn with a high encounter rate - but figuring out how to get the Apple in question for its new evolution is a considerably trickier task. Thankfully, once you know where to find it it's simple to gather as many of them as you might need.
Where to find Syrupy Apples
Simply put - in the South-East corner of Kitakami you can find a small shack, next to an equally small apple orchard. Right next to the shack, you can find a small stand filled with apples; by interacting with it, you'll find that it's an unmanned stall selling Syrupy Apples. They'll cost you 500 poke-dollars a pop, and you can pay the fee as many times as you'd like.
How to evolve Applin into Dipplin
Once you've discovered and purchased a Syrupy Apple, all you'll need to do is put an Applin in your party and use the Syrupy Apple on it to evolve it into Dipplin. Be careful, now; it's very easy to find both Sweet and Tart Apples within Kitakami, which naturally look similar to a Syrupy Apple; but of course they'll evolve your Applin into either an Appletun or Flapple respectively.
