Pokemon Scarlet and Violet Basculegion: Where to catch Basculin and evolve to Basculegion

Last year, Pokemon graced us with a new evolution for Basculin - Basculegion. Now with Pokemon Scarlet and Violet: The Hidden Treasure of Area Zero, players can catch and evolve Basculin in Kitakami thanks to the introduction of White Stripe Basculin. 

Where to catch Basculin

Basculin can be found in the Northwest region of Kitakami, found within a river in the Timeless Woods. This is the White Stripe variant, which coincidentally is the only forme that can evolve into Basculegion.

How to evolve Basculin into Basculegion

If you played Pokemon Legends: Arceus, you might remember the unorthodox method of evolving your Basculin - if you haven't, here's all you need to know. Instead of requiring a specific level, or item, to evolve Basculin - you need to have it take 300~ recoil damage without fainting then level it up. 

You'd be best served attempting this task outside of Kitakami - simply take your Basculin to a location with weaker Pokemon back in Paldea and spam recoil damage-inducing moves until you've reached the appropriate level of damage. Make sure to heal before your recoil will KO your Basculin! Then level it up and you'll be good to go. Have fun with your new Basculegion!
