Every Free Vehicle in Cyberpunk 2077 2.0 and Phantom Liberty
Cyberpunk 2077's Night City is a city of cars. Vehicles ply its roads and its public transit system is little more than an unobtrusive form of fast travel. V can also fill their garage with a nearly unlimited number of vehicles across multiple models and categories. Luckily for the frugal mercenary, you can get a good number of those vehicles for absolutely free, and this guide covering all the Cyberpunk 2077 free vehicles will tell you what they are and how to get them. We've also included the vehicles added for the recent 2.0 update as well as the Phantom Liberty expansion.
For your convenience, we've arranged our list of vehicles based on type. Some vehicles are given to you automatically as part of the story. Others are rewards for quests. Still others are just sitting in a hidden corner of the city, waiting for you you step into them. This list will also include where to pick up the vehicle and how to earn it.
For those who'd like to spend money on their rides, check out this guide to picking up cars from El Capitan's AutoFixer website. AutoFixer will also host cars sold by Fixers (i.e. the pre-2.0 messages you could receive).
Cyberpunk 2077 Free Vehicles: Economy and Executive Cars
V's Archer Hella EC-D i360
This Archer Hella EC-D i360 is your first vehicle and your main ride for Act 1 of the story. It's yours when you first gain control of the game during "The Rescue", your tutorial gig with Jackie.
Notably, V's Hella is actually unique. It's got a cute little dashboard bulldog bobblehead, a custom sticker, and it's got slightly better stats than a stock Hella.
Unfortunately, at the beginning of Act 2, you'll temporarily lose access to V's Hella, as part of the prologue to the quest "Tune Up". Following that quest's completion, the Hella will return to V's garage after a few in-game days.
Thorton Galena GA40XT "Rattler"
This hatchback is a true beater, and that's not surprising - It's the default vehicle V drives if you choose the Nomad lifepath. Choosing to be a Nomad V is the only way to get this car. You lose it after the prologue, but can get it back in Act 2, after following a story quest into the Badlands and triggering the side gig "These Boots Are Made For Walkin'".
The gig will lead you to Medeski Fuel Station in the badlands, near the Night City Landfill. There you'll face a choice, as the car has a new owner. You can threaten or pay the new owner off to receive the car, or choose to give it up for good.
Frankly speaking, outside of potential sentimental value, this Rattler is almost exactly the same as a stock version of the Galena, and isn't particularly notable on its own.
Delamain No. 21 Taxi
A famous Delamain taxi cab will be yours to drive after finishing the somewhat long quest chain starting with "Tune Up", which leads to seven installments of the "Epistrophy" mission, and finally, "Don't Lose Your Mind". Completing it will award you with a Delamain cab of your own. Your choices during the mission, though, will determine the cab's onboard AI personality.
You'll still have to do the driving, though.
Villefort Alvarado "Vato"
This might be the most elaborately decorated car in the game, but you'll need to put up your fists if you want to win it. The "Vato" is a one-of-a-kind customized car belonging to Cesar, your opponent in the quest "Beat on the Brat: The Glen."
Cesar will give you the opportunity to win the Vato by betting his car on your fight. Beat him, and you'll receive the opportunity to take the car and his money. You can choose to leave the money and keep the car, or take both. For either option, the Vato will be added to your garage automatically.
Note that the fight against Cesar can be tough at low levels or if you're not specced for unarmed melee combat. Consult our revamped build guide for some ideas on how to upgrade V for ultimate boxing victory.
Cyberpunk 2077 Free Vehicles: Sport, Muscle, and Hypercars
Rayfield Caliburn "Murkmobile"
The Rayfield Caliburn is hands-down the fastest single car in Cyberpunk 2077. Best of all, you can get one for free. You'll need to have finished the "Ghost Town" mission and achieved at least level 40 on your Street Cred.
When you've achieved the prerequisites, visit a tunnel just south of the Raffen Shiv hideout area from "Ghost Town". There you'll trigger an unmarked quest called "Murk Man". Inside the tunnel, you'll see a shipping container holding some loot, a datapad entry, and a black Rayfield Caliburns. The vehicle will be added to your garage as soon as you board it. This free version is black instead of white.
Quadra Turbo-R V-Tech
This is the model car from the initial trailers and promotional art for Cyberpunk 2077, and features the telltale four-line tail lights. If you want one of your own, you'll want to head down to The Glen in Heywood and take on the "Gig: Life's Work" quest. That gig involves recovering someone else's car and driving it back to them.
A few days after you complete it, you'll get a second assignment: "Sex on Wheels". Complete that one to add the Quadra Turbo-R V-Tech to your garage.
Porsche 911 Turbo II 930
This iconic sports car is the personal ride of one Johnny Silverhand, and it's the only free Cyberpunk 2077 vehicle that exists in the real world. It can be yours for completing the mission "Chippin' In".
You'll be given a choice to kill or spare an NPC during the quest. Choose the dialog option "Got lucky today," to spare their life, and you'll receive a key card that unlocks the shipping container containing the car. You can also kill them and take the key from his body, though you'll have to find the container that contains the vehicle yourself.
Archer Quartz "Bandit"
This customized version of the Archer Quartz sports car was introduced in a piece of free DLC added for Cyberpunk 2077 patch 1.3. You can get it for free during the "Ghost Town" gig. Late into that mission, your partner Panam Palmer will ask for your help getting some payback. If you refuse to help her, you'll gain the approval of your Fixer, Rogue. Rogue will appreciate your professionalism and reward you with the car.
You can still obtain the car if you do choose to help Panam, though. The Badlands Fixer Datoka Smith will offer you the car for sale several in-game days after completing "Ghost Town". The car also has an AutoFixer entry, allowing a direct purchase.
Quadra Type-66 640 TS
This standard model Type-66 painted in a unique green shade is a reward from City Center Fixer Dino Dinovic. He'll give it to you once you finish all of his available gigs, which triggers a mini-quest called "Gas Gas Gas" that awards you the car.
Quadra Type-66 "Cthulhu"
This customized race version of the Quadra Type-66 muscle car belongs to Peter Sampson, your opponent in Night City's death racing circuit. You'll race against him during the mission "The Beast in Me".
In order to obtain the car for free, you'll have to conduct yourself a certain way during the mission, particularly around Claire, your partner for the race. Be professional, focus on the race, and favor mercy over vengeance. This should ensure that Sampson survives the deadly race. Several days after this, you should receive a text message from Sampson stating that he's giving his car to you.
Should the mission end any other way, you'll still be able to purchase the car via AutoFixer.
Quadra Type-66 "Hoon"
This Nomad-customized version of the Type-66 is the first free weaponized vehicle in Cyberpunk 2077, and you can get it from a surprise quest in Northside.
Check out our full guide to the "I'm In Love With My Car" quest at this link.
Mizutani Shion "Coyote"
You can obtain this Nomad-customized sports car without making a purchase, but earning it will prove that there are other ways to pay than in money.
You'll get it by essentially abandoning Panam before the mission "With A Little Help From My Friends," and tattling to Saul about her plans.
Note: Doing this will permanently lock you out of the rest of Panam's side quests, and ultimately, one of the possible endings for the game. Think carefully before taking this path!
Saul, however, will be grateful, and leave the vehicle for you at the Sunset Motel in the Badlands.
You can get a similar model of the Coyote - albeit in a different color - from the AutoFixer website.
Quadra Sport R-7 "Charon", "Sterling" and "Vigilante"
Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty introduces a new Quadra muscle car to the mix to compete with the Type-66: The Quadra Sport R-7. The expansion contains no less than three unique variants of the Sport R-7 for you to acquire, and you can get two of them from missions. I've grouped them below.
"Charon"
The "Charon" is a reward from the Dogtown side gig "Moving Heat". You'll receive the job after being contacted by the netrunner Ashlay, offering you "Free Wheels". The gig involves infiltrating a Barghest-controlled facility beneath the Dogtown stadium, near the EBM Petrochem Station fast travel point. You'll have to steal the Charon out of the Barghest facility, but it'll be yours to keep once you get out.
"Sterling"
The "Sterling" version of the Sport R-7 is a reward for completing all the gigs offered by Fixer Mr. Hands in Dogtown.
"Vigilante"
The "Vigilante" model of the Sport R-7 is a pre-order bonus for Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty. It'll be awarded to V upon entering Act 2, where you'll receive a text and access to the vehicle. For those that didn't pre-order, it can be purchased from the Autofixer page.
Herrera Outlaw "Weiler"
A basic grey/silver version of the Herrera Outlaw is available from the Autofixer website, however the custom black "Weiler" can be obtained for free. Once you do a handful of car return jobs for Muamar, he will call the player to offer the side job Baby Let Me Take You. Upon completion of this job, the Weiler will be awarded for free.
Cyberpunk 2077 Free Vehicles: Motorcycles and Trucks
Jackie's Nazare ARCH
This customized motorcycle belongs to your buddy Jackie Welles, and he rides it throughout Act 1. Following Act 1, you'll receive the bike.
There are actually two versions of this bike, but one is exclusive to a Nomad Lifepath V. A Nomad V with at least 6 points in Technical Aptitude will unlock a unique dialog option during "The Pickup" main job, allowing V to suggest a few things Jackie can do to improve his ride.
When you receive the bike in Act 2, the improvements will be visible compared to a standard ARCH bike.
Nazare ARCH "Itsumade"
This customized Tyger Claws version of the ARCH motorcycle is the end reward of the unmarked quest "The Highwayman". You can trigger the quest by visiting a garage in Rancho Coronado East. From there you'll have to follow the clues to track down a missing couple.
However, if you just want the vehicle, you can actually skip the quest and go straight to the bike, which is in a locked garage near the All Foods plant in Northside. Enter the garage by inputting "0214" on its keypad.
Nazare ARCH "Malina Mobile"
A third customized Nazare ARCH can be yours depending on your choices during the Phantom Liberty side gig "Dazed and Confused". As it progresses, you'll have a choice of possible resolutions involving the NPC Lina Malina. Your choice will determine your reward: A unique piece of clothing for V (if you have a female body type), the iconic baseball bat "Baby Boomer", or the bike. Choose dialog options allowing you to have Lina "tell him he's your sister", and after the quest concludes and a few text conversations, Lina will reveal that she's left you a present outside the brainporium. It's the bike.
Scorpion's Brennan Apollo
This customized version of the Brennan Apollo bike belongs to Scorpion, a member of the Aldecaldos Nomad clan. You'll receive it from Panam as a reward from the quest "Life During Wartime".
Thorton Colby Butte CX410 "Grand Butte"
This tough little utility vehicle is available for free from the Desert Film Set area of the Badlands. The quest isn't marked on the map until you approach the zone, which is near the Jeff's Dirt Track and Rocky Ridge. This free version of the Colby Butte is orange in color instead of green.
Approaching the scene will kick off the mini-quest "Dressed to Kill". The quest will complete once you claim the car, and it'll be added to your garage.
Thorton Mackinaw "Beast", "Saguaro", and "Demiurge"
Three variants of Thorton's large pickup truck are available for the taking. One is a mission reward, another is a Fixer reward, and the third is the end result of a long-percolating easter egg.
"Beast"
The Beast version of the Mackinaw is given to you automatically at the conclusion of the "The Beast in Me" side quest chain. You can also obtain the Quadra Type-66 "Cthulhu" variant during the same quest, so scroll up for some tips on acquiring that vehicle too.
"Saguaro"
The Saguaro variant of the Mackinaw is used by the Nomads, and you can get your own from Fixer Dakota Smith, who gives you one for completing all of her gigs.
"Demiurge"
The Demiurge is a Mackinaw that's been modified into a monster truck. You can get it by following a rather complex quest that avid Cyberpunk 2077 players have been chasing for more than a year, the so-called "FF:06:B5" easter egg.
The entirely unmarked side quest is a pretty convoluted one, and involves playing a Johnny Silverhand-themed Doom-like shooter on a hidden laptop at 04:00 AM, among other steps. Some users have reported that a player only interested in obtaining the vehicle can simply stand idle on a specific mattress out in the middle of the desert between 04:00 AM and 05:00 AM. V will experience a scripted coughing fit, black out, and then wake up with the unlocked Demiurge in front of them.
For more details on the full FF:06:B5 easter egg quest and the Demiurge monster truck, refer to this video by YouTuber Little Danny B.
Tanishi T400 Truck
This compact, tractor-like truck is exclusive to Phantom Liberty and given to you shortly after you arrive in Dogtown at the start of the mission. You'll receive it from Fixer Mr. Hands, who will reward you if you did any gigs for him before beginning Phantom Liberty.
Since Mr. Hands is also the fixer for Pacifica (the district Dogtown was originally part of), there's a good chance you'll have worked for him at least once while visiting the area. If not, head off to a gig and clear it before entering Dogtown.
Cyberpunk 2077 is available on PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. The Phantom Liberty expansion and version 2.0 update are available on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S. Check out RPG Site's official review and our full slate of available guides.
