Horizon Zero Dawn Guide: How to get every Trophy

Horizon Zero Dawn is a vast game with an abundance of things to do and places to explore. Its fun combat and beautiful world will probably make getting every achievement in the game to be a fun endeavor. It’s not a super difficult game to platinum by any means; all its achievements are reasonable, with some being quite easy.

We’ve got you covered for these achievements in case you want to platinum Horizon Zero Dawn. Below is our list guide on how to get every trophy and achievement in the game with some of our tips on how to get them. Best of luck!

Horizon Zero Dawn Trophy Guide – Combat

Horizon’s combat is one of its main attractions – it’s fluid, fast, and fun. A large number of its trophies are combat related, and each trophy in this list will require you to do something specific in battle in order to achieve it.

• Stealth killed 10 machines

  • Perform a stealth kill on 10 machines. Hide in the bushes, wait for an enemy to pass by (or use Lure Call), and land a silent strike.
  • Bronze

• 3 strikes From Above

  • Kill 3 enemies using the Strike from Above skill. Acquire the ability in the Skill section of your main menu, stand above an enemy, and use the ability. We promise that it’ll feel pretty satisfying.
  • Bronze

• Tore off 10 components

  • Detach 10 components from machines during combat. This will require you to use the Focus to highlight a monster’s weak points. Then, attack those weak points enough to tear them off. Do this for 10 components and you’ll have your trophy.
  • Bronze

• 10 vulnerable machine kills

  • Kill 10 machines weak to Fire while burning, or weak to Freeze while frozen. Use your Focus to identify a monster’s weakness and see if they’re weak to either fire or ice. Exploit their weakness and kill them while they’re burning or frozen.
  • Bronze

• Tore off 5 heavy weapons

  • Detach 5 heavy weapons from machines during combat. Once you do, you’ll be able to use these heavy weapons in order to deal more damage.
  • Bronze

• 7 types of machine overridden

  • Unlock and use the overrides for 7 different types of machines. If you need to learn how to override more machines, tackle some Cauldrons – they’ll allow you to learn how to override more mechanical creatures.

• Headshot 30 human enemies

  • Kill 30 human enemies by landing headshots on them. Pretty self-explanatory. The Sharpshot Bow is the perfect weapon to use to get this achievement.
  • Bronze

• Down 23 Grazer dummies

  • Find and knock over all the Grazer training dummies in the Nora region. Horizon’s map is pretty large and each region is pretty dense, so you’ll have to do some exploring for this one. Just focus on the Nora region specifically and you should find them in no time.

• All Recon machines killed

  • Kill at least one of every machine in the Recon class.
  • Bronze

• All Acquisition machines killed

  • Kill at least one of every machine in the Acquisition class.
  • Bronze

• All Combat machines killed

  • Kill at least one of every machine in the Combat class.
  • Bronze

• All Transport machines killed

  • Kill at least one of every machine in the Transport class.
  • Bronze

Horizon Zero Dawn Trophy Guide – Sidequests

Horizon Zero Dawn is filled with both story and combat focused sidequests. The trophies listed here are based on the ones that focus on combat.

• First Bandit Camp cleared

  • Take back a settlement from a bandit clan. Eliminate all bandits in a camp and you’ll have this trophy.
  • Bronze

• Cleared all the Bandit Camps

  • Take back all settlements from the bandit clans and free the hostages inside. We recommend being as stealthy as possible and using your bow for headshots to make taking back each of these settlements a lot easier.
  • Silver

• First Tallneck Overriden

  • Scale a Tallneck and access its information. Tallnecks will allow you to see an entire region on your map. Scaling them makes for some beautiful sights, too.
  • Bronze

• All Tallnecks Overriden

  • Scale all the Tallnecks and access their information.
  • Silver

• All machines catalogued

  • Encounter and Focus scan every type of machine. There are 26 in total. Check the Machine Catalogue category in your Notebook to keep track of the machines you’ve come across and used your Focus on.
  • Bronze

• First Core Overriden

  • Reach the core of a Cauldron and access its information. Cauldrons are dungeons with a boss waiting for you at the end. Defeat the large machine at the end of a Cauldron and override the core for information.
  • Bronze

• All Cores Overriden

  • Reach the Core of every Cauldron and access the information within. This is a tougher achievement to get because Cauldrons can be quite challenging.
  • Silver

• First Corrupted Zone cleared

  • Kill all the corrupted machines in a Corrupted Zone. These corrupted machines tend to be just a bit stronger than their normal counterparts. Clear a zone and get this trophy.
  • Bronze

• All Corrupted Zones cleared

  • Kill all the corrupted machines in every Corrupted Zone. We recommend using the strategy of luring a machine and then silent striking it to make reaching this goal easier.
  • Silver

• All Suns at one Ground

  • Earn at least a Half Sun mark in all three trials at one Hunting Ground.
  • Bronze

• Blazing Suns at one Ground

  • Earn a Blazing Sun mark in all three trials at one Hunting Ground.
  • Bronze

• All Suns at all Grounds

  • Earn at least a Half Sun mark in all trials at all the Hunting Grounds.
  • Silver

• Blazing Suns at all Grounds

  • Earn a Blazing Sun mark in all trials at all the Hunting Grounds. Good luck with this one!

• First Metal Flower found

Discover a strange metal flower.

Bronze / 10G

• All Metal Flowers found

  • Find all the Metal Flowers.
  • Bronze

• First Ancient Vessel found

  • Find an ancient vessel once used by the Old Ones. Just like the strange metal flower, you’ll be able to pick this up around ruins across the world map.
  • Bronze

• All Ancient Vessels found

  • Find all the Ancient vessels.
  • Bronze

• First Vantage found

  • Find and access a Vantage datapoint.
  • Bronze

• All Vantages found

  • Find and access all the Vantage datapoints.
  • Bronze

• First Banuk Figure found

  • Find a wooden effigy left by a Banuk traveler.

Horizon Zero Dawn – RPG Progression and Character Skill Trophies & Achievements

Horizon Zero Dawn is dubbed an “Action RPG,” and it very much has the stable RPG elements that we’ve all come to know and maybe even love. The trophies for character progression in this game are quite simple and straightforward, making things a bit easier for all completionists out there. 

• First Modification

  • Use a Weapon Coil or Outfit Weave on a modifiable weapon or outfit. While you won’t be able to extensively modify your weapons and outfits in this game, Weapon Coils and Outfit Weaves give nice little boosts to your stats.
  • Bronze

• Reached level 10

  • Reach player level 10 in the game. Keep hunting monsters and you’ll get to level 10 in no time.
  • Bronze

• Reached level 25

  • Reach player level 25.
  • Bronze

• Reached level 40

  • Reach player level 40.
