Persona 4 Golden: Marie (Aeon) social link choices & unlock guide
All-new to Persona 4 Golden over the original PS2 version of Persona 4 is the Marie social link, which represents the Aeon arcana. Marie isn't key to the core plot of Persona 4, but she's one of the strongest additions to the Golden version of the game, giving a little bit of insight into the Velvet Room in a unique s-link storyline that gets the entire investigation team party involved.
Marie is also a character you can romance - you can make her your girlfriend, if you so choose. Marie S-Link Guide - Aeon
While new for the Golden version of Persona 4, The Marie social link is one of the lengthier ones in the game, and completing it unlocks an exclusive dungeon in the late game, so you'll likely want to max it out. This page features all of the conversation options and dialogue choices for your relationship with Marie, so you can rank up this s-link as quickly as possible to secure that dungeon unlock as well as some other bonuses.
As mentioned, Marie can also become your girlfriend if you want - so the guide also clearly denotes the branches at which you can pursue a lovers' relationship.
For the record, Persoan 4 Golden's s-links rank up based on a hidden experience-like stat that's raised every time you spend time together. But you can boost it more quickly by saying the right thing. Conversation options with a number next to them on this guide offer bonus points - the higher the better. All the point values include a Persona Arcana bonus which is granted when you have an Aeon Persona with you - so always have one on hand when hanging out with Marie, to match her arcana.
- Marie can come out of the Velvet Room to hang out on Wednesdays, Saturdays, Sundays and Holidays - but as always,. not on rainy days.
Rank 1:
- You can open the Social Link with Marie any time after April 18th in-game. Just visit the Velvet Room. If there are other events at the same time, you may need to exit and re-enter the Velvet Room - but you will be offered the opportunity to get to know Marie upon entering the Velvet Room after that date.
- To be clear again, you must hit Rank 10 with Marie in order to access a new bonus secret dungeon, as detailed in our P4G endings guide.

Regardless of if you're friends or lovers, once your social link with Marie reaches Rank 10, you'll get the maximum bonus exp when fusing Aeon Persona and get the Bamboo Comb key item, which will let you fuse the Persona Kaguya.
