Dragon Quest Monsters 3: The Dark Prince Mini Medal Locations

When you play a Dragon Quest game, you expect a lot of things — slimes, time-travel stories, exploration, etc. — but one of the most memorable things would be Mini Medal collecting, and Dragon Quest Monsters 3 is no different. As you explore the various Circles of Nadiria, you will inevitably come across a Mini Medal or two. These can be exchanged for extremely useful prizes at the Medallist, located at The Maulosseum, so tracking all of them down can be extremely worth your while.

This list provides 73 Mini Medals, 3 more than necessary to get all items from The Medallist. This list may be missing a few Mini Medals that haven't been discovered yet. Furthermore, this list will have location name and map spoilers.

Below we have the locations of Mini Medals as well (in order of apperance) as well as a list of what items you can exchange them for:

Rosehill Tower (Terrestia Only) — 1 Medal

Behind the eastern bookcase behind the Monster Synthesis altar. You can only find this Mini Medal at the Rosehill Tower while it is parked in Terrestia.

Paddock — 3 Medals

Located in a pot in the southeastern corner of the farm. Only obtainable after the Paddock expands once (by progressing in the main story.)

Located in a pot on an island in the northern lake. Only obtainable in the Winter, when the water freezes over, and only after the Paddock expands for a second time (by progressing further in the main story.)

Located in a pot near the ramp on the western side of the map. Only obtainable after the Paddock expands for a third time (by progressing further in the main story.)

Circle of Conquest: Lower Echelon — 2 Medals

Located in a pot on the western side of the audience section of The Maulosseum.

Located in a pot directly behind The Laboratorium.

Circle of Temper: Lower Echelon — 3 Medals

Located in the middle of the map, in a chest on top of stone bridge. To access this, you need to wait until Autumn and then ride the water platform (located directly northeast of the bridge).

Located in a pot on the south side of Dragglenook.

Located on an island on the east side of the map. To access, wait until Spring and take the seasonal vortex to the east of the Caverns of Conflagration entrance. You can only access this region of the map once you defeat the Big Hitter in the dungeon.

Circle of Indulgence: Lower Echelon — 3 Medals

Located on a small island in the south. To access, you need to wait until Spring and ride the flower located on the bridge to the north of the island.

Located in a pot in an NPC's house on the east side of Honeyton.

Located in a pot on the on the west side of the 2nd floor of Hotcake Heap, through a hole in the wall.

Circle of Caprice: Lower Echelon — 4 Medals

Located in a pot on the eastern side of the town.

Located in the well in the south side of the map.

Located in a chest on an island in the northern lake. To access, you need to wait until Winter when the water freezes over.

Located in the ruins beneath the southern lake. To access, you need to wait until Autumn when the water dries up.

Located behind the Watchtower in a chest.

Located behind the Chief's house in a pot.

Located in a chest beneath the second staircase you see as you enter the dungeon.

Diabolic Hall — 1 Medal

Located in a pot in a jail cell (or gaol cell.) Northern-most row of cells, third from the left.

Circle of Conquest: Middle Echelon — 3 Medals

Located in a treasure chest behind a giant tree in the southeastern corner of the map. To access this southeastern corner, you need to wait until Spring and ride the flower located in the map image above.

Located in a well south of the entrance to Dun Maulin.

Located in the pot next to the Storage NPC in Dun Maulin.

Circle of Temper: Middle Echelon — 5 Medals

Located in a chest at the location on the map.

Located in a chest on an island. To access, wait until Spring and ride the flower to the island.

Found in a chest hidden inside of rock. To access, wait until Summer when the rocks explode.

Hidden in a pot in the eastern hallway of the map.

Hidden in a pot in the northwestern part of the map.

Circle of Indulgence: Middle Echelon — 3 Medals

Located on a small island in the southern lake. To access, wait until Winter and cross the frozen lake.

Located on top of a mountain on the eastern side of the map. To access, wait until Autumn and climb the pumpkins.

Located in a dead end on the second floor of the Desserted Dungeon.

Located behind the donut throne in the Gazebo du Gateau.

Circle of Caprice: Middle Echelon — 9 Medals

Located in a pot inside Pierre's Home.

Located in a pot on a platform to the northwest of Pierre's Home. To access, wait until Spring and cross the river. You will need to drop down on appropriate platform after crossing the river and climbing up a ramp.

Located in a pot in the sand northeast of Rosehill Tower.

Located in a pot in the sand to the west of Pierre's Home.

Located in a pot in the sand to the southwest of Pierre's Home.

Located in a pot in the sand outside of the dungeon.

Located in a pot in the southwestern part of the dungeon.

Located in a pot in the northern hallway of the dungeon.

Located in a pot in the southeastern corner of the dungeon.

Circle of Fortitude: Middle Echelon — 4 Medals

Located in a pot in a hut near the Rosehill Tower.

Located in a chest on the western side of the middle part of the map. To access, you need to wait until Summer for the fans to turn on. Ride it up to the roof and drop into the building where the chest is.

Located in a pot on the eastern side of Fort Nox, first floor.

Located in a pot in the center of the third floor of Fort Nox.

Cradle of Corrupton: Middle Level — 1 Medal

Located in a pot near the Inn/Shops.

Circle of Temper: Upper Echelon — 4 Medals

Located in a chest just southwest of Rosehill Tower. To access, wait until Summer for the rocks to disappear.

Located in a chest next to some sleeping monsters in the southwest part of the map.

Located in a pot in the first room of the dungeon, next to a pillar on the west side.

Located on the sixth floor of Dragonspate. To access, align the puzzle as shown in the screenshot. This can be obtained while on the way to the boss of the dungeon.

Circle of Indulgence: Upper Echelon — 6 Medals

Located just east of Rosehill Tower, on a lower ledge.

Located far to the north in an alcove between the lake and the cake tower.

Located on the same level as the Battenburg entrance. Follow the path to the right of the entrance.

Located in a pot in the northwest room on the first floor of Battenburg.

Located in the jumping flan room (Flan Foyer). In order to access this, first you must access the third floor. Then, you need to make both of the southern-most flans small, and approach the chest by leaping onto the southwest flan headed east. A nearby chart on the third floor will tell you how the flan heights can affect your jumps.

Located in the southwest room on the third floor of Battenburg. Can only be accessed from the second floor staircase on the western side.

Circle of Fortitude: Upper Echelon — 3 Medals

Located on a small green island at the bottom of the fortress on the left side. To reach, you must drop down on it from above. A ladder that leads to pipes that you can walk on will get you over the green island.

In a chest in the northwest corner of the first floor of Barbatos's Bastion. To reach, take the fourth arrow from the left that shoots you north.

In a chest in the southwest corner of the first floor of Barbatos's Bastion. To reach, simply do not take the arrow squares and walk on normal floor.

Cradle of Corruption: Upper Layer — 2 Medals

In the southeast corner on the upper level of the Temple of Venjah.

In the southwest corner on the middle level of the Temple of Dumah.

Circle of Caprice: Upper Echelon — 6 Medals

Located in a pot in the southwest corner of the map, near the fountain.

Located in a pot near the river in the northeast corner of the map.

Located in a pot to the west of the Aamon's Sanctum entrance.

Located on a small ledge to the west of the Aamon's Sanctum dungeon entrance. To access, warp to the dungeon entrance, head west, and drop down onto the ledge from above.

Located in a pot on the west side of the middle part of the map. Obtainable while solving the puzzle to progress to the boss.

Located in a pot in the northwest corner of the map. Obtainable while solving the puzzle to progress to the boss.

Circle of Conquest: Upper Echelon — 5 Medals

Located directly behind the Hopeful Haven, in a pot.

Located in a chest near a poisonous lake in the northeast corner of the map. To access, wait until Winter to cross the lake while it's frozen.

Located in a pot in the courtyard of the Conqueror's Keep on the east side. You will need to defeat the Quad Squad to access this area.

Located in the Northwest Shrine of Power on the west side in a chest.

Located in a chest on the first floor of Conqueror's Keep. You can only access this room from the western staircase on the second floor.

The Whispwoods

In a chest directly behind Rosehill Tower. You can only access this area after completing the main game.
