Persona 3 Reload: Theurgy Guide

New to Persona 3 Reload is the Theurgy mechanic, which allows your party to perform a devastating attack against your enemies. Gaining access to Theurgy requires you to progress a little ways into the game, becoming available shortly after recruiting Fuuka into S.E.E.S. Similar to a Limit Break, in order to use a Theurgy attack, a character must fill a special gauge that appears next to their portrait during combat. While the bar will fill a bit each time a character attacks an enemy, each member of your team will have a method in which to get a greater boost to their bar, depending on their "personality." 

 

Theurgy Attacks and Personalities

Main Character:

  • Theurgy Attack: Varies
  • Increase bar: Switching and using persona attacks

 

Yukari:

  • Theurgy Attack: Cyclone Arrow / Deals severe Wind damage to 1 foe, ignoring resistances.
  • Increase bar: Using healing skills

 

Junpei:

  • Theurgy Attack: Hack n' Blast / Deals severe Slash damage to 1 foe, ignoring resistances.
  • Landing critical hits

 

Akihiko

  • Theurgy Attack: Lightning Spike / Deals heavy Electric damage to all foes, ignoring resistances.
  • Increase bar: buffing himself

 

Mitsuru

  • Theurgy Attack: Blizzard Edge / Deals severe Ice damage to 1 foe, ignoring resistances.
  • Increase Bar: Hitting enemies with their weaknesses or inflicting a status ailment on them

 

Aigis

  • Theurgy Attack: Orgia Mode / Heavy Pierce dmg to all foes, ignoring resistances. Ignores orders for a time
  • Increase Bar: Hitting enemies with physical skills.

 

Ken

  • Theurgy Attack: Divine Retribution / Deals severe Light damage to 1 foe, ignoring resistances.
  • Increase bar: Gain more bar once his SP is lower than 50%

 

Koromaru

  • Theurgy Attack: Hound of Hades / Deals severe Dark damage to 1 foe, ignoring resistances.
  • Theurgy Attack: Power Howling / Next physical attack will deal more than double the damage for all allies.
  • Increase bar: Hit an enemy's weakness

 

Shinji

  • Theurgy Attack: Bleeding Fury / Deals severe Strike damage to 1 foe, ignoring resistance.
  • Increase bar: Gain more bar once his life is lower than 50%

 

Fuuka

  • Theurgy Attack: Oracle / Grants 1 random positive effect to all allies
  • Increase bar: Analyze enemies.

 

Main Character Theurgy Attacks:

The main character, due to his ability to have multiple persona, has numerous attacks that can be used for his Theurgy attack. In order to unlock them, he will need to add a specific persona to his compendium either by fusion or by recruiting them via Shuffle Time. 

  • Cadenza / Restores 50% HP and increases Accuracy/Evasion for all allies.

  • Jack Brothers / Deals medium Almighty damage to all foes. High chance of inflicting Down.
    • Register Pyro Jack and Jack Frost
  • King and I / Heavy Ice damage to all foes, ignoring resistances. Medium chance to Freeze.
