Eiyuden Chronicle Hundred Heroes All Characters Guide: where to find and how to recruit every hero

As the successor to the beloved Suikoden series, Eiyuden Chronicle: Hundred Heroes has an extremely large cast of characters to recruit. In Suikoden, there were 108 Stars of Destiny that referred to the protagonist and the over 100 characters they could collect to join their side.

Meanwhile in Eiyuden Chronicle: Hundred Heroes, that number has been further bumped up to a grand total of 120 characters to recruit and collect. Keep in mind that there are potentially two characters permanently missable because of bugs at this point in time. We believe that, under normal conditions when the game is fully fixed via patches, that no character will be permanently missable. In the mean time, we've made note of these characters in this guide with a large MISSABLE label by their name.

We have ordered and arranged this list in a manner of when a character can join your party at the earliest possible point. Note that when a character officially joins your cause in Eiyuden Chronicle: Hundred Heroes, there will be a special animation and screen that showcases their full art portrait and character sprite to the bottom-right corner.

Some later characters may temporarily join you at earlier parts of the game, and we do not count those as having them permanently joined you at that point in time.

Another note to keep in mind is whenever we refer to something as 'Your Town', it will show up in game as the custom name you have given to your town when you first unlock the Town Development system. There are a plethora of custom names you can choose from, and that name will be referred to within the game's UI.

For instance, the custom name I gave my town was Pandaemonium and the overworld map will be called 'Near Pandaemonium'. The teleportation point on the Map List will refer to it simply as 'Pandaemonium', so whenever we refer to something as 'Your Town' or 'Your Castle' in this list, it's because it's up to you to decide what name you've given it!

With all that in mind, here is the Eiyuden Chronicle: Hundred Heroes all characters guide on where to find them and how you recruit each of them.

Nowa
- Starting character
Garr
- Automatically joins you in Arenside
Mio
- Automatically joins you in Arenside
Lian
- Automatically joins you in Arenside
Iugo
- Found at Eltisweiss Tavern (located at the east side of Eltisweiss)
Mellore
- Introduction cutscene triggers when walking down the center of Eltisweiss
- As you exit south of Eltisweiss, trigger another cutscene with her
- Exit Eltisweiss and travel East to Redthroat Ridge
  - Note: We recommend you recruit at least two other characters to fill out your party of six first before traversing to Redthroat Ridge
- She will temporarily join your party at the start of Redthroat Ridge
- Permnanently joins you when the Boss is defeated at the end of Redthroat Ridge
Kuroto
- Travel to Altverden Village (located to the west of Eltisweiss on the Grum County-North overworld map)
- Introduction cutscene triggers shortly to the west of the Altverden Village entrance
- Choose ‘Actually, I’m looking for stalwart allies.’ dialogue option
- Go to Redthroat Ridge and kill three Wild Boars
- Return to him and he will join you
Francesca
- Find her at the northwest of the Altverden Village entrance
- Choose ‘You have a place with us.’ dialogue option and she'll join you
Yusuke
- Go to Fort Xialuke (located to the north of Eltisweiss on the Grum County-North overworld map)
- Choose ‘He’s not the culprit.’ dialogue option
- Choose ‘Welcome to the ranks.’ dialogue option and he'll join you
Huang
- Step 1
  - Revisit Arenside after the six-month story time skip
  - Encounter him around the area where the beginning of the game started
  - Choose ‘Love it.’ dialogue option
  - He’ll give you a Bamboo Rod to unlock Fishing
  - His recruitment continues later when the story has your party travel to Hishahn - refer to Step 2 once you get there
- Step 2
  - You'll re-encounter Huang at the southeast section of Hishahn
  - Catch a Wheel-Eye Bream for him through Fishing
  - The Wheel-Eye Bream is located at a Fishing Spot southwest of Seaside Cavern, or at the fishing spot in Seaside Cavern
    - Note: Multiple trips to this Fishing Spot may be necessary, since it has a low chance to appear and it is tricky to catch
  - Once the Wheel-Eye Bream is caught, go back to Huang, and choose ‘Let’s join forces’ dialogue option, so he'll finally join you

- Automatically joins you once you return to Eltisweiss after Kyshiri Village
Gigina
- Revisit Arenside after the Abandoned Mine
- Introduction cutscene triggers to the west of the Arenside entrance and they will automatically join you
Ymir
- Automatically joins you during the cutscene at Castle Ruins after the Eltisweiss invasion
Sumire

- Introduction cutscene triggers at the entrance of Bounty Hill
- Get two cutscenes while exploring Bounty Hill
  - Note: One has a dialogue choice, but it has no relevance in determining the recruitment of Wyler
- Once you see the two cutscenes, a new cutscene will trigger as you try to go past the rightmost guard to rescue Wyler's sister
- Choose ‘Join us.’ dialogue option and he'll join you
Marin
- Automatic when Wyler joins you
Kerrin
- Travel to Dappled Forest (located near the center of Near Your Town's overworld map)
- Introduction cutscene triggers at the east of the entrance of Dappled Forest
- Get 20 Lumber and talk to her
- Choose ‘Join us.’ dialogue option and she'll join you
Gieran
- Introduction cutscene triggers at the campfire when traveling through The Greatwood-East
- Find Rune of Conservation, which is a key item dropped by the Ancient Seed Boss encountered later in The Greatwood-East
- Return to him and choose ‘You have a place with us.’ dialogue option for him to join you
Kallathor
- Automatically joins you after completing the Proving Grounds dungeon
Chron
- Go toward the southern exit of Your Town and talk to the NPC dressed with a red uniform
- He'll join you once you talk to him
Squash
- Revisit Treefolk Village on your way to Euchrisse and go to the Treefolk Village's Trading Post
- Find Sparklestone, which is dropped by Phantombirds
  - Note: The Phantombird can be found at the new area now unlocked in the Dappled Forest
  - You can choose to do this now by backtracking to it or holding it off when Fast Travel is unlocked
- Go back to Squash and choose ‘Sure, it’s yours.’ dialogue option, so they'll join you
Mariette
- Travel to Twinhorne East located near The Greatwood on Euchrisse overworld map
- Introduction cutscene triggers at the south of Twinhorne East's Inn
- Find her charm that was lost in The Greatwood
- Travel back to The Greatwood and run around until you encounter a Rabbit Archwitch in a battle
- If the battle has a treasure chest, choose the Gimmick Command to open the treasure chest to obtain Mariette's Charm
- Go back to her and choose ‘Sure, it’s yours.’ dialogue option, so she will join you
Pastole
- At Twinhorne East, trigger his introduction cutscene by the Tool Shop
- Choose ‘Welcome to the ranks.’ dialogue option and he'll join you
Lam
- Note: Lam used to be bugged in the launch versions of the game, but this has since been patched.
- The intended way to recruit Lam is to speak to Riufan first at Your Town's Inn
- Bring Riufan into your party and visit Daphan Village for a cutscene
- Speak to Lam and she should join you
Hakugin
- Located east of the entrance to Daphan Village
- She'll mention looking for someone from East Reach who joined a militia
- Put Mio in your party, talk to her, and she will join you
Code L
- Introduction cutscene triggers at the Daphne Village Rune Shop
- Find Rune of Currents, which is dropped by the Pagurian Boss encountered in Hishahn Old Town
- Choose ‘Welcome to the ranks.’ dialogue option and he'll join you
Riufan
- Travel to Hishahn (located near the center of the Euchrisse overworld map and you will travel here as part of the main story)
- Introduction cutscene triggers at pier to the west of Hishahn Inn
- Need to become stronger first, in order to fight him and advance his recruitment. Beat him in a 1-vs-1 battle (Nowa is the only one in this fight). You can heal during the fight, if needed.
- Choose ‘Let’s join forces’ dialogue option and he'll join you
  - Note: Once he joins you, we recommend putting him in your party and immediately talking to Lam in Daphan Village
Nell
- Interact with the bag NPC northwest of Hishahn and ask them to join you
Perrielle Grum
- Automatically joins you upon visiting the Hishahn Inn
Janquis
- Automatically joins you upon visiting the Hishahn Inn
Carrie
- Introduction cutscene triggers on your way to the main quest objective after the events that take place at Hishahn Palace (may trigger earlier if you wander Hishahn extensively before doing the main quest)
- Teleports away after the dialogue choice
- Encounter her again north of the northeastern bridge
- Teleports away after the dialogue choice
- Encounter her again south of the southeastern bridge
- She will join you after that last encounter

Kurtz
- Introduction cutscene triggers north of the southeastern bridge after the events that take place at Hishahn Palace
- Find the Grilled Tutuva Recipe
- A NPC at the Treefolk Village gives you the Grilled Tutuva Recipe
- Return to him and he will join you
Glen
- Revisit Arenside after unlocking Fast Travel
- Introduction cutscene triggers at the spot where the beginning of the game starts
- He'll unlock the Card Game
- Beat him in a Card Battle for him to join you
Shixeen
- She will show up to the left of Glen's Card Game Shop at Your Town after you've collected around 120 unique cards from Card Packs.
- Choose ‘You bet we are. Shuffle up!’ dialogue option
- Beat her in a Card Battle and she will join you
Dr. Corque
- Revisit Eltisweiss after unlocking Fast Travel
  - This can be done earlier by backtracking through the Abandoned Mine
- Introduction to beigoma cutscene triggers at the southwest corner of Eltisweiss
- Go to Dr. Corque's place, which is the southeastern house in Eltisweiss
  - Note: You'll get the option to choose your starter beigoma, but this decision does not affect or influence anything at all
- Travel to Altverden Village and beat Taq at beigoma
- Travel to Kyshiri Village and beat Fender at beigoma
- Travel to Werne Village and beat Celera at beigoma
- Return to Dr. Corque's place in Eltisweiss
- Choose 'Works for me.' dialogue option and he joins you
Reid
- Follow the steps to recruit Dr. Corque until Dr. Corque joins you
- Dr. Corque relocates to Your Town
- Return to Your Town, open up the map after entering town, and locate the beigoma icon to find where Dr. Corque now resides
- Go to Dr. Corque in Your Town, encounter Reid, and choose 'You're on, Reid!' dialogue option to initiate anouther beigoma battle with Reid
- After beating Reid, Dr. Corque will tell you about tracking down Crash's minion
- Travel to Daphan Village and beat Venom at beigoma
- Travel to Arenside and beat Thudd at beigoma
- Travel to Treefolk Village and beat Zeph at beigoma
- Travel to Dr. Corque's place at Your Town and beat Reid at beigoma
- Travel to Hishahn and beat Flowe at beigoma
- Travel to Impershi'arc and beat Pyre at beigoma
- Travel to Ardinale Lowtown and beat Crash at beigoma
- After beating Crash, Reid finally joins you
Falward
- Revisit Altverden Village after unlocking Fast Travel
- Introduction cutscene triggers inside the Meeting-Palace building's west side
- Bring him 15 Healing Herbs and he joins you
Yume
- Revisit Werne Village after unlocking Fast Travel
  - This can be done earlier by backtracking through the Abandoned Mine
- Talk to the Old Lady at the west of the Werne Village entrance
- She wants you to find her daughter
- Go to Redthroat Ridge and find Yume near the entrance
- Choose ‘Welcome to the ranks.’ dialogue option and she'll join you
Frieda
- Revisit Werne Village after unlocking Fast Travel
  - This can be done earlier by backtracking through the Abandoned Mine
- Introduction cutscene triggers a little past the Old Lady who gave you the quest to find her daughter, Yume
- Choose ‘Join us.’ dialogue option and she joins you
Pieter
- Revisit Werne Village after unlocking Fast Travel
- Introduction cutscene triggers at the northwest part of Werne Village
- Choose ‘I feel the same way.’ dialogue option

- Revisit Mountain Path after unlocking Fast Travel
  - This *may* be done earlier by backtracking through the Abandoned Mine
- Introduction cutscene triggers at the northwest corner of the Mountain Path map
- Bring him someone with at least 300 MP
  - Note: A level 30+ healer, such as Francesca or Falward equipped with a Turquoise Brooch, worked for us
- Choose ‘Let’s join forces.’ dialogue option and he joins you
Galdorf
- Revisit Abandoned Mine after unlocking Fast Travel
- He is looking for a Palenight Mail
  - Note: You should already have one with you from a treasure chest from the Proving Grounds dungeon
- If you do not have a Palenight Mail, there is one right by Ormond who now shows up by the Abandoned Mine 2 save point in the Abandoned Mine dungeon
- Unequip the Palenight Mail, talk to Galdorf, and he will join you
  - Note: Galdorf does not take the Palenight Mail from you when he joins you
Hiro
- Revisit Abandoned Mine after unlocking Fast Travel
  - This can be done earlier by backtracking through the Abandoned Mine
- He is still at the same spot when you first ran into him previously
- Choose ‘You have a place with us.’ dialogue option and he'll join you

- He will automatically join you once you have the Mission Guild node on the Town Development Tree and Enoe
Larla
- Travel to Eltisweiss Inn after you recruit Enoe and Fume
- She wants you to "score big" on a guild mission dispatch
- Get an Epic Success result from a guild mission dispatch
  - Note: This function is unlocked from the Mission Guild node on the Town Development Tree
- Once you have received an Epic Success result from a dispatch (this can be viewed by selecting the View Report option at the guild), return to Larla
- Choose ‘You have a place with us.’ dialogue option and she'll join you
Douglas
- Travel to Eltisweiss Smithy after you unlock the option to switch to Seign's campaign

- Bring him 10 Iron Ore
  - Note: If you collect 10 Iron Ore in your Bag and it doesn't progress his recruitment, turn in these resources into Your Town first before you talk to him

- Travel to Your Town's Rune Shop after you unlock the option to switch to Seign's campaign and an introduction cutscene should occur
  - Note: If it does not occur, unlock the town upgrade for the Rune Shop to sell Runeshards first
- Choose ‘Let’s join forces’ dialogue option and she'll join you
Paquia
- Travel to Arenside after the main story events at Euchrisse
- She'll be located just up ahead of the Arenside entrance
- Choose ‘They’re pretty neat.’ dialogue option
- Bring her five Regular Eggs which are dropped by Eggfoots
- Return to her and Mandie shows up after she joins you
Mandie
- Automatically joins you right after Paquia joins you
Aire
- Travel to Hishahn after the main story events at Euchrisse
- Introduction cutscene triggers at the southwestern exit of Hishahn
- Choose ‘Uh, listen…’ dialogue option
- She wants Nowa to beat her in a race around town
  - Note: Our Nowa automatically beat her in the race, so we aren't sure if any stats influence the outcome of this race
- After you beat Aire in a race, she will join you

Leon
- Introduction cutscene triggers when you approach a NPC laying down by the leftmost exit of Your Town after the main story events at Euchrisse
- Leon automatically joins you
Isha
- Travel to Eltisweiss after the main story events at Euchrisse
- She is located at the southeast fountain of Eltisweiss
- Find a lost cat with “black fur and a slinky walk.”
- Find that cat at the southwest corner of Eltisweiss
- Get Stamp Card as a reward & now you have to collect 1 Cockatrice Egg
- Encounter Cockatrice (adult) as a random encounter in Mountain Path with a Gimmick command to open a treasure chest in battle
  - The treasure chest will contain a Cockatrice Egg
- Return to Isha and now you have to deliver something to Arenside
- Go make the delivery to the Arenside General Store
- Upon completing this task, she will join you
Celia
- Proceed through the Cooking Contest storyline that takes place in Your Town's Inn with Kurtz and win 15 Cooking Contests for her to join
  - Note: This one takes awhile. It takes roughly five minutes for the next chef to show up for a Cooking Contest match upon winning a match. Read our Favorite Food Guide if you're having trouble with the Cooking Battles as you help Kurtz reunite with Celia.
Reyna
- Located by the harbor at Dabavin
- Beat her in battle under certain conditions
  - Note: The condition is to deal roughly ~1000 damage points before the 3rd turn ends; we weren't able to recruit Reyna until much later in the game. By then, the fight ended abruptly in the middle of the 2nd turn as our party members were much stronger by then.
- Choose ‘Let’s join forces.’ dialogue option and she'll join you
Rody
- Located by the Dabavin General Store
- Choose ‘Can I talk you into joining us?’ dialogue option
- Need to find and give them a pearl pocket watch
- Appraising the Unknown Pocket-Watch from a treasure chest inside Seaside Cavern will identify it as the Peark Pocket-Watch you're looking for Rody
  - Note: If you already sold this, the Unknown Pocket-Watch can still drop from the Sandfish and Sonic Rider enemies in random encounters around the Great Sandy Sea overworld map
- Choose ‘Join us.’ dialogue option and he'll join you
Prunella
- Located in Dabavin Inn
- She'll ask for 100,000 baqua
- Once you've saved up enough baqua, talk to her
- She'll take the entire 100,000 baqua, but she'll give you back 50,000 baqua upon joining you
Quinn
- Introduction cutscene triggers when you walk a little bit forward upon arriving in Impershi'arc
- Encounter her again by the stairs to Impershi'arc Inn
- Encounter her again by the Imperishi’arc Harbor
- Choose ‘I’m good to go!’ dialogue option and you will be taken to The Den of the Dunes.
- Here you will meet Dijkstra for the first time.
- Travel through The Den of the Dunes and beat the Oyamatsumi Boss
  - Note: The Oryamatsumi Boss is a multi-part fight. It will retreat two times until a final confrontation on the third fight.
- Choose ‘I think we should team up.’ dialogue option and she joins you
Stadler
- Introduction cutscene triggers a little to the right when you first run into Quinn
- Choose ‘Challenge accepted.’ dialogue option and beat him in the War match
- Choose ‘Welcome to the ranks.’ dialogue option and he'll join you

- Located to the right of the Impershi'arc Inn
- Choose ‘Join us.’ dialogue option and they'll join you
Skyd
- Automatically joins you after the Impershi'arc Race
  - Note: If you get 1st Place at the Impershi'arc Race, you will be awarded the Golden Scale Armor
Yuferius
- Automatically joins you after the Impershi'arc Race
Scarlet
- Find her at the Impershi'arc Harbor after the Impershi'arc Race
- Beat her again in an Impershi'arc Race rematch and she'll join you
Syd
- Step 1
  - Travel to the Hisahn Smithy after the main story events at Impershi'arc with Nowa's party
  - Needs Town Lvl 3 to unlock the availability of the Workshop node; move to Step 2 once this is accessible
- Step 2
  - Return to him and choose ‘It is! That’s so true!’ dialogue option
  - Needs 1 Iron Ore, 1 Mystic Lumber, & 1 Dire Beastbone
  - Bring these to him and he'll join you
Jorhan Gavulet
- Encounter him in front of the Hisahn Trading Post after the main story events at Impershi'arc with Nowa's party
- Put Perrielle in your party and speak to him again
- Learn about Scarab in the Eastern Desert that hoards rare antiques
- Get Unknown Antique to drop in a random encounter battle with a Scarab in Eastern Desert
- Bring Unknown Antique to an Appraiser Shop and have it appraised
  - Note: You want the Yellow Rose Censer as the appraisal result so if it is not this, get another Unknown Antique to drop in battle and have it appraised until it's the Yellow Rose Censer
- Bring Jorhan the Yellow Rose Censer and he'll join you
  - Note: He does not take the Yellow Rose Censer
Clarke
- Encounter him in Ardinale City shortly after switching to Seign's route
- You initially cannot progress his recruitment until you return later to him with Nowa
- When you talk to him with Nowa, he will express wanting to build a theater and is looking for a “script with enough passion to reignite my love for drama.”
- Buy the Star-Crossed Lovers Script from the Ardinale City General Store
  - Note: The Star-Crossed Lovers Script is a Star Item and in our pre-release review build of the game, the availability of Star Items were inconsistently purchasable. If it is not available for you, return to the General Store at a later time and it may show up.
- Return to Clarke and choose 'Welcome to the ranks.' dialogue option for him to join you
Yaelu
- Automatically joins you when you start the Rune Tank diversion operation in Seign's route
Ivy
- Automatically joins you when you start the Rune Tank diversion operation in Seign's route
Mihlu
- Automatically joins you when Seign's party returns to Your Town
Chandra
- Introduction cutscene triggers at the Training Grounds after you get the Drill: Mock Battle node at Town Lvl 3
- NPCs will be talking about a dragon sighting at Eldroad
- Bring Code L as your Support character when you encounter Chandra by a treasure chest at Eldroad
  - Note: If you haven't unlocked Eldroad yet, progress the main story until it has you traverse through it
- Beat Chandra in battle and they'll join you after that

- Located at Twinhorne East after finishing the Nowa and Seign route split section
- Talk to him with Sabine in your party and have the Mission Guild node unlocked on the Town Development Tree
- Choose ‘Join us.’ dialogue option and he'll join you
  - You'll need to upgrade your Mission Guild for him to join
Marisa
- Automatically joins you at the Gathering Hall scene when agreeing to help out Marisa
Garoo
- Automatically joins you at the Gathering Hall scene when agreeing to help out Marisa
Aleior [MISSABLE]
- Talk to Marisa at Castle Floor 1 and she'll tell you about griffin sightings
- Bring Marisa to the Abandoned Mine and Aleior will be by the bridge shortcut that was initially blocked by a mine cart
- Note: You will need to bring Marissa to the Abandoned Mine to recruit Alelior before the events at Castle Harganthia.
CJ
- Introduction cutscene triggers a little bit above Your Town's southern exit
- Go to the Runebarrows by Arenside with Garoo and Isha in your party
- When you first fight the Prometheus Boss in the dungeon, choose the Flee command because it is unbeatable at the moment

Galladur [MISSABLE]
- After finishing the Yarnaan invasion, warp to Proving Grounds, go to the pedestal that rotates the room, and head straight west to the door, but don't go through it. Galladur is sitting right in front of it, down a little bit in the grass. Speak with him to fight an event battle, and he'll join.
- Due to a bug, if you do not pick up Galladur in his available window, you may miss out on him entirely. It's unclear how long this window is, but leaving Yarnaan after its invasion is the first possible time you can get him.
