How to unlock outfits in Metaphor: ReFantazio?

All the additional outfits in Metaphor: ReFantazio are paid DLC sets or included as part of the more expensive Metaphor: ReFantazio Digital Anniversary Edition. If you bought the standard edition physically or digitally, you can also upgrade using the Metaphor: ReFantazio Atlus 35th Digital Anniversary Edition Upgrade so don't worry. How many outfits are there in Metaphor: ReFantazio?

These are eight sets of seven outfits each bringing the total to 56. The outfits are all from prior Atlus games from the Persona, Shin Megami Tensei, and Etrian Odyssey series. Each series or game costume set comes with its own battle BGM and jingle. I've listed all the Metaphor: ReFantazio outfits below. Note that I've blacked out the top right of the screen to avoid any sort of spoilers.

How to change outfits in Metaphor: ReFantazio?

Once you have access to Akademia where you meet More, which is very early on, you will be able to claim the DLC costume bundles from a golden box on the couch as shown in the screenshot above. After claiming these, you can change them per character from the equipment tab and at the bottom below accessory for each character. Note that the character costumes only change appearance in dungeons and at the end of battle screenshot. All cut-scenes and non dungeon locations will have the characters wearing their regular non DLC outfits.

How to use DLC music and change the battle theme in Metaphor: ReFantazio?

To change the battle theme using the DLC music in Metaphor: ReFantazio, you need to change the protagonist's costume. The battle theme will correspond to what DLC costume they are wearing. Unfortunately, Atlus has not added a way to randomize the battle theme or select from DLC tracks in-game. It is locked to what outfit the protagonist is wearing in Metaphor: ReFantazio.

This not only changes the battle theme (outside of specific instances), but also the battle jingle that plays when you complete a battle. Hopefully a potential future update allows those who own multiple DLC sets to randomize what battle theme plays during dungeons.
