Monster Hunter Wilds Poogie Guide - Where are they, and what can you do with them?
With the loveable Poogie absent from Monster Hunter Rise, we’re sure fans are clamoring to see if their adorable little guys have made a comeback in Monster Hunter Wilds, the latest mainline game in the series. If you’re curious if Poogie has returned in this latest Monster Hunter entry, you’ll be interested to know: Yes, a poogie is in the game.

Where do you find Poogie in Monster Hunter Wilds?
Poogie is available in the final village, Suja, once it is unlocked after you defeat the Jin Dahaad in the main story quest “Nothing Frozen, Nothing Gained” in Chapter 3-2. It roams through the village of Suja as it sees fit, with a cute little frog on its head to keep it company. You can run up to it whenever you want and interact with it, and if you lose it all you need to do is look for the Poogie shaped Icon on your map or mini-map.

What can you do with the Poogie?
As nice as it is to see the Poogie return after Rise, your options with your pig friend are limited. Here’s the only things you can do with when interacting with one:
- Pet
- Edit Name

If you time your button press for when an adorable pink exclamation point appears above it, you’ll be rewarded with a random item. If you fail, your little pet will get incredibly mad and storm away. It won’t be long, however. Just give it a minute or two, and it’ll be back to waddling about. So if you ever felt “I’d like to get an Antidote Herb from a cute creature” then there you go. If you’re immature like I am, you can also change the name of your new pet.
Is that all?

Yep! At least, at the current moment. Poogie customization has been stripped back from the previous entries. We can only hope that Capcom brings full customization back for your pet Poogie. In World you could pick it up and even change its outfit, so it’s strange to see that little extra detail missing in Monster Hunter Wilds. Maybe this will return in the massive expansion for Wilds down the road, or in one of many free title updates. We’ll be updating this guide over time for the Poogie Fanatics out there, so stay tuned.
