Saga Frontier 2 Walkthrough: Scenario Breakdown
The recently announced SaGa Frontier 2 Remaster brings this classic SaGa game to modern platforms. Unlike other SaGa titles, this game follows a linear, scenario-based structure. There are two different main characters, Gustave which is focus more on story, while Wil is more of the core SaGa game. You don't need to play through all of Gustave's story to complete the game; however, completing Wil's final scenario is required to see the ending. For the Remaster release, after the intro, the game will ask if you want the new content or not. Having new content included will also change the gameplay a lot from the original. But be sure to choose include the new content, or else they will not appear in the game.

This guide follows a minimalist, spoiler-free approach, serving as a checklist for completing each scenario. What the guide does not cover will be boss tips and game mechanics. Another note is that the translation for some of the items and abilities is different from the original release.
Note: There are new post game events, however they're not included in this guide due to spoilers.

Wil's Scenario
Overview: As mentioned earlier, Wil's scenario is focused on the adventure side of things, and there will be a lot of battles occurring in this scenario. The core SaGa gameplay loop will also be featured in the scenario. One of the advantages of playing Gustave's scenario earlier is that you will have built up of powerful sword abilities for Will's team. A thing that does occur a lot is the change of characters per generation, so don’t over-invest in any single character, as they may not stay in your party long-term.
Wil's Departure
- Event Order: Wil Scenario 1 (Year 1235)
- Featured Characters: Wil, Cordelia, Narcisse, Tyler
- Objective: This is the very first Wil's scenario, head to the pub. After the event, talk to Cordelia and Narcisse to recruit them. Then head to the Ruins of Hahn. If you find a quell during your expedition, returning to the pub will end this scenario.
- Treasure: Silver Staff, Battlemage Armor, Bone Gloves, Bone Breastplate, 100 Crowns, Rock Axe, Amber Maleate, Pocket Dragon, Kris Knife
- Items in bold are a Quell which will end the scenario when you return to the Pub with them.

There are also a variety of powerful custom made items here that serve as end-game equipment when you can afford them, when returning to Vogelang. Anyways, talk to the lady working at the inn behind the counter to inquire about Henry Knights. Then you can exit out of town, which will trigger the end of this scenario.

Infiltrate! Alexei Gang
- Event Order: Wil Scenario 3 (Year 1238)
- Featured Characters: Wil, Cordelia, Narcisse, Tyler, Nina
- Objective: This chapter will start in a pub, you will need to pick someone to go along with Will. However, if you choose Cordelia, there will be dire consequences for her if you do that. In Thermes City, you can buy some low-grade accessories. When you leave town, head to the Westia Pub and talk to people around Alexiel. Then, during nighttime, complete Alexiel's task for him. This is by gathering information in the pub, and then the old lady in the north about Kyle. To find Kyle, you will need to go to the water tower, and examine the ladder to the left, and the girl will mention that Kyle likes to hide in scary places. Leave and examine the dog nearby. Then head to the pub and take the rear entrance to go to the sewers. Once you find Kyle, exit out of the sewer to end this scenario.

So, avoid fighting bird-type enemies if you can. Reach the end of the valley and defeat the boss to end this scenario.
- Note: Some of the treasures are unreachable; you will need to lure the griffin into knocking the treasures down to get them.
- Note 2: Defeating the Griffin will give you an achievement; however, this monster has 22000 HP, so it's recommended that you do it in New Game+.

When you trigger the event inside the Megalith, it will trigger a series of boss fights as you leave. The final encounter will end this scenario. Once you have completed this scenario, if you spot Weissland on the World's Map, you can return to fight the boss again. - Event Order: Gustave New Scenario 2 (Year 1261)
- Featured Characters: Gustave, Flynn, Steel Soldier, Ventarbre, Johan
- Objective: Use Gustave's party and navigate through the grand valley. The event will come to a close when you reach the end.
- Note: This event appears right after clearing Anima Faith Fiasco.
The General's Memories (Optional)
- Event Order: Gustave Scenario 18 (Year 1264)
- Featured Characters: Nebelstern, Narcisse, Cielmer
- Objective: In this scenario, you’ll take control of Nebelstern, with the objective of reaching Vogelang. A unique feature of this event is that Cielmer becomes a temporary playable character—exclusive to this scenario. While Cielmer boasts a strong affinity for elemental arts, investing in his development isn’t worthwhile since he’s only available for this event.
The Southern Fort
- Event Order: Gustave Scenario 19 (Year 1269)
- Featured Characters: Johan
- Objective: You will be playing a story event where you are forced to battle until you run out of LP. If you haven't played the event, Johan the Assassin, completing this scenario will also give your party members the Tornardo Slash ability. If Johan runs out of LP, you will also get an achievement.

The Count of Jade's Sons
- Event Order: Gustave New Scenario 3 (Year 1277)
- Featured Characters: Kelvin
- Objective: This is a new story event that appears after seeing the Hahn Nova in Flames event. For this event, you will need to engage in a field battle. You have several conditions to win, either by holding for six turns or by defeating the Cantal. I would recommend taking out forces on the left side first by using an archer and infantry unit, and then focus on the right side. Forces by the Cantal will not move unless you engage in combat with or near the 5 turn mark.
Death of Cantal
- Event Order: Gustave Scenario 22 (Year 1288)
- Featured Characters: Neuvieme
- Objective: Story Event.
Kelvin's Last Battle
- Event Order: Gustave Scenario 23 (Year 1292)
- Featured Characters: Kelvin
- Objective: This scenario presents another Field Battle, but this time you’ll be fighting on equal footing with the enemy forces. While Kelvin is present during the event, he does not actively participate in combat—losing him would result in an immediate game over, so it's recommended that you have a unit nearby to draw him away from danger.
A Runner's Desertion
- Event Order: Gustave New Scenario 4 (Year 1293)
- Featured Characters: Moi
- Objective: This is a new story event that appears after seeing the Kelvin's Last Battle event.
Fake Gustave Arrives

- Featured Characters: Gustave?

From Whence He Came

Edelritter
- Event Order: Gustave Scenario 25 (Year 1301)
- Featured Characters: Sargon, Watts, Greta
- Objective: For this event to appear, you will need to see Wil's new event, Roberto's Close Call. There aren't gear-related things or strong characters behind this scenario. The whole scenario is exploring an optional area with Sargon. Before the final room, there is a massive slime horde, if you choose to defeat them all, you will also get an achievement. Once you made it to the final room, solve the constellation puzzles, leave and head to the hidden room to end the scenario.
- Puzzle Solution: On reset, hit the right, middle then left switch.
Gathering of the Six Knights
- Event Order: Gustave New Scenario 6 (Year 1303)
- Featured Characters: Bolse
- Objective: Story Event.
Peace Conference
- Event Order: Gustave Scenario 26 (Year 1305)
- Featured Characters: None
- Objective: Story Event.
Battle of Hahn Nova
- Event Order: Gustave Scenario 27 (Year 1305)
- Featured Characters: None
- Objective: This is another field battle mission where the game switches into a strategy type game. For this scenario, Fake Gustaves has powerful steel soldiers making the fight a complete pushover to win.
Battle of South Moundtop
- Event Order: Gustave Scenario 28 (Year 1305)
- Featured Characters: None
- Objective: Gustave’s final scenario culminates in the brutally challenging Battle of South Moundtop. The key to victory lies not in overpowering the enemy but in surviving eight turns against Gustave’s elite Steel Force—a cadre of units so formidable that direct engagement is tantamount to suicide. Deploying an archer behind infantry triggers an opening Arrow Volley, and then use Blazing Dragon with infantry units should wipe out their soldiers. Prioritize eliminating the units that aren't Gustave's steel soldiers, then swarm his position to block his movement. Critical note: Gustave only mobilizes after Turn 4, and with proper unit placement, you can restrict him to one tile of movement per turn. From there, hunker down in defensive stances and let the turn count deliver your hard-won triumph.
