White Knight Chronicles: Awakening of Light and Darkness Comes to America

The venerable developer Level-5 has finally announced to the public that they will be bringing White Knight Chronicles: Awakening of Light and Darkness to the United States, the sequel to White Knight Chronicles that was released back in February of 2010.

After being restricted from being brought stateside from Sony Computer Entertainment Japan, D3 Publisher has announced that it will be handling those duties themselves. They have also announced that a remastered copy of White Knight Chronicles will be included as a bonus disk, just like what Level-5 did in Japan.

I want to give White Knight Chronicles as a series another chance, I really do. I felt a little burned with the first entry because it put me on the hook to create a character, and then left him to be some sort of third wheel who was also a coward. That and the myriad of other issues the game faced made the game in my eyes average at best.

However, given the fact that Level-5 is even willing to include both the first and second games for the same price leads me to believe that they want their fans to give them another chance as well. Fortunately, I have heard the good news that your created character will have most of the focus this time around, with Leonard being the one pushed into the wings.

They want to give this generation of consoles their best effort, and hopefully if they find that success, they will be able to see it carried over to the release of Ni No Kuni and may be even willing to bring us games like Dark Cloud 3 as well.

White Knight Chronicles: Awakening of Light and Darkness will be released sometime this Summer. Fans in Europe will be able to grab it in May.
