On this Tokyo Game Show edition of the podcast, James opens things up with a short check-in on Final Fantasy XIV while Bryan gives his first lukewarm impressions on Wasteland 3. Josh might be planning to start another series marathon, and discusses revisiting Ys II.
In another packed news week, the cast responds to Microsoft's gigantic purchase of all things Bethesda, and talks about a little about what we think we might see going forward. The cast then walks through a bunch of news out of Tokyo Game Show 2020, starting out with details on the NieR Replicant Remaster, alongside a localization announcement for NieR Re[in]carnation. New footage of Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity continues to look like the Warriors game to get Bryan into Warriors games, while Phantasy Star Online 2: New Genesis looks like an impressive leap forward.
More news out of TGS and Game Live Japan brings the cast to discuss new footage of Labyrinth of Galleria: Coven of Dusk and Disgaea 6: Defiance of Destiny, while continued ruminations on a potential Mass Effect trilogy remaster and new romance along with an Early Access delay for Baldur's Gate 3 round out the discussion. Josh goes over some Japanese titles to keep an eye out on such as Maglam Lord and Megaton Musashi and we collectively remark on how we feel about a potential Yakuza movie.
