Ciel nosurge DX and Ar nosurge DX coming to PS4, Switch, and Steam on January 28, 2021
Koei Tecmo and Gust have announced via Famitsu that the remasters of the Surge Concerto series, Ciel nosurge DX and Ar nosurge DX, will be available for PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, and PC via Steam on January 28, 2021.
The Surge Concerto series began with Ciel nosurge, an adventure game where the player builds a relationship with the heroine Ion. It was released on PlayStation Vita exclusively in Japan; the first release in 2012 had some online features, but there was also another version released in 2014 that can be played entirely offline.
The second game in the series, Ar nosurge: Ode to an Unborn Star, is an RPG that was available first on PlayStation 3 in 2014. Unlike Ciel nosurge, this RPG was localized worldwide. It was also enhanced into Ar nosurge Plus on PlayStation Vita afterwards; although the Western releases of this port were only available digitally.
Gust published a teaser site and trailer for the Surge Concerto DX remasters last June. However, there were no details on the release date and platforms at all back then. You can watch the teaser trailer right below:
Although a Steam release has also been confirmed, this news is still fresh even in Japan so the announcement for the English releases is yet to be seen.
