Gamedec delayed to 2021
Anshar Studios has announced that adaptive cyberpunk RPG Gamedec will now launch for PC in 2021. The game is also planned for release on Nintendo Switch in 2021, though it may follow the release of the PC version instead of as a simultaneous launch. The developer cites feedback from press and content creators as a factor in the decision to postpone the game launch.
Gamedec held a Kickstarter campaign earlier this year to raise funds for the title, amassing more than $170,000. We also had a chance to check out an early preview for Gamedec, and you can read Dani's thoughts on what she played here.
The message from the team can be found in full below.
Hello everyone,
Without further ado, we have decided to move the premiere of Gamedec to 2021.
We want Gamedec to be a community-driven experience. The ideas and suggestions many of you stated in the surveys or previews, both by the press and content creators, were very honest, brutal, but always very helpful and mind-opening. This made us realize that we're heading in the right direction, and our branching system works well, but there is still a lot of work to do. Since rushing things is not the #AnsharWay, we need more time to deliver the gome that both you and us want Gamedec to be.
We promise to make the most of the time we are asking for. We are still fixing the dialogues before we will send them to the final translation. Most of the locations in Gamedec are done, but we are still iterating many factors of the meta-scenario and polishing the narrative branching. There is also o window for user-created input - we promised a space to deliver community-made assets that will find their place in the final build of the game (graffiti, voice recordings, naming NPCs or companies), and it is still a work in progress. We also wont to inform everyone that the additional worlds of Seven: The Long Days Gone ond Cthulhu that were unlocked during our Kickstarter Campaign will be delivered post-launch as a free DLC for everyone.
Gamedec is still set to debut on PC. We can't promise a simultaneous release on Switch and other consoles, but they are still confirmed. We promise to update you as soon as we have new information to shore. Thank you for being such a fantastic community, and for your continued support.
