Sega's Judgment to launch for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and Google Stadia on April 23
Sega has announced that Judgment - the crime thriller spinoff of the Yakuza series - will release for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and Google Stadia on April 23, priced at $39.99.
Judgment originally released in Japan for PlayStation 4 in late 2018 (as Judge Eyes), which was followed by a worldwide release in summer 2019. The game follows detective Takayuki Yagami as he investigates a strange murder mystery case involving a series of eyeless corpses. Our review labeled it as one of the best Ryu ga Gotoku Studio games, involving similar elements to many Japanese paralegal noir films and dramas. It also placed in our top ten games for the year.
This new release of the game will up the framerate from 30 to 60 frames-per-second, while also boasting improved loading times. It will also include all of the DLC available for the game, which includes filters for Yagami's camera, figurines & cats for Yagami's office, outfits for Yagami's date partners, drone frames for drone races, and various battle items.
A Sega representative has told RPG Site that RGG Studio does not have plans to release Judgment for PC at this time. Additionally, Sega has stated that there will not be either cross-buy or an upgrade path for those who own the PS4 version of Judgment. Finally, Sega has confirmed to RPG Site that the PS5 and Xbox Series versions will be available at retail. We will update if any additional clarifications are made.
