Bioware "working on the details" of where Mass Effect goes next
The Bioware Doctors have gone on record with Forbes about the future of the Mass Effect franchise once Mass Effect 3 launches next year - and unsurprisingly, Bioware intend to tell more stories in the deep Mass Effect universe in the future.
"Certainly the setting has really resonated with people, the type of aliens in the world, the type of people that inhabit space. Obviously we focus first and foremost on nailing it on this game, and then, you know, the possibilities in the future are very, very broad" Greg Zeschuk told forbes when asked about the future of the space RPG franchise.
The second of the doctors, Ray Muzyka, was keen to make clear that thoughts on the future would not effect Mass Effect 3, telling Forbes "We want to make sure it’s awesome. [Mass Effect 3] is our first focus." He did go on to confirm that Bioware are turning their eye to the future of the franchise, though. "Beyond that, we do have a desire to continue the Mass Effect franchise, and we’re working on the details, figuring out what the fans want, figuring out the right way."
Mass Effect 3 is out on March 6th, 2012.
