Metal Max Wild West launches for PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch in 2022
Kadokawa Games will release Metal Max Wild West in early 2022. The Japanese game publisher revealed new details for the latest title in the Metal Max series in today's 30th-anniversary stream.
This game was initially revealed as Metal Max Xeno Reborn 2 in October 2019, with a release window in 2020. It ultimately missed the window, as the first Xeno Reborn—a remake of Metal Max Xeno—was delayed multiple times and eventually released on September 10. In mid-March 2021, Kadokawa Games announced that Metal Max Xeno Reborn 2 shall be newly known as Metal Max Wild West.
The stream showed a new unnamed protagonist for Wild West. The new game will also feature a city that will grow as the protagonist performs well in outside adventures and battles. An older stream in August 2020 indicated that Talis and Toni, the protagonist and heroine of Xeno Reborn, would return with new designs in this sequel. However, neither of them appeared in the latest images shown in today's stream.
Metal Max Wild West is slated for release on PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch in Japan in 2022. An English localization for this sequel of Metal Max Xeno—and its Reborn remake—has yet to be announced.
