Former Shin Megami Tensei staff members will reveal Monark on June 10
A mysterious teaser site for a new Japanese school-themed RPG titled Monark has shown up. The full reveal of the new game is slated to happen on June 10. The page contains many obscured names of staff members and voice actors related to the new title.
The four easiest names only needed one letter to fill, and all of them point to staff members who used to work on the Megami Tensei franchise in Atlus.
- Kazunari Suzuki, the writer of Digital Devil Story: Megami Tensei and Shin Megami Tensei
- Ryotaro Ito, the writer who first worked on Megami Tensei II
- Tsukasa Masuko, the composer of titles from Megami Tensei to Devil Summoner: Soul Hackers
- Aya Nishitani, the novelist who wrote titles from Digital Devil Story: Megami Tensei to Shin Megami Tensei: Devil Summoner.
In addition to the staff list, the site also contained riddles of the game's Japanese voice cast list. So far we could decipher that it will include Gakuto Kajiwara, Madoka Asahina, Shigeru Chiba, Honoka Kuroki, Satomi Akesaka, Kotori Koiwai, Yuki Sakakihara, Taito Ban, Wataru Hatano, Suzuko Mimori, Ayasa Ito, Shinichirou Kamio, Shinichirou Miki, Ryusei Nakao, and Atsushi Tamaru.
The teaser page also contains a phone number, 050-3204-4961, which can actually be called in Japan. Persona Central confirmed that calling the number will produce a recording of screams followed by a cryptic message. The page's source code also contains a comment that implies this game will have 4 choices with 4 possible fates. It will be up to the player's own ego to make the choice.
Although a Twitter account for the game has also been set up, most of the game's release details are still yet to be known, including the publisher, release date, and platforms. However, Japanese Twitter user Renka may have traced the publisher to FuRyu from the server acquirer's common name. Either way, this mysterious juvenile RPG will be officially revealed next week on June 10.
