Sakuna: Of Rice and Ruin update lets you carry a cat and a dog at the same time

Marvelous has released a new update for rice farming sim / RPG hybrid Sakuna: Of Rice and Ruin, which adds a few small new components to the game alongside more bug fixes.

The most important update, of course, is the ability to carry both a cat and a dog at the same time, as shown below. A dog can also now greet you as you return to your homestead.

Other significant updates include new language support for Simplified Chinese and Latin American Spanish, improved UI elements, and some balance tweaks particularly in the second half of the game. Additionally, several more performance issues and bug fixes are addressed, such as playing the game on different aspect ratio PC monitors, rice nutrient/disease/harvest tweaks, visual effects like snowfall, pad detection, and loading times.

The update should be currently live for both Nintendo Switch and PlayStation 4. Edelweiss' Nal states that the PC version should be updated within the next few days.

Sakuna: Of Rice and Ruin was a bit of a surprise RPG hit late last year, hitting more than 1 million copies shipped just a few weeks ago. The game also made its way into our top ten RPGs of 2021.
