Isometric co-op action RPG Space Punks announced for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC
Publisher Jagex and developer Flying Wild Hog (Hard Reset, Shadow Warrior) have announced Space Punks, an isometric co-op action RPG set to release for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. No release date has been stated.
Update (July 2): Jagex has announced that Space Punks will launch in Early Access for PC on July 14, with a full PC release coming in Winter 2021 and a console release in 2022.
The trailer shows four playable characters with apparently varied gameplay styles, all in a top-down twin-stick shooter style of gameplay.
We otherwise don't have much information on the game yet, but Flying Wild Hog does state on its website: "Space Punks is designed to be a living, breathing, and ever-changing game world - a true living game built in line with Flying Wild Hog’s creative mission to make action-packed, fast-paced, and wholeheartedly unique titles that transport players into unexpected and exciting new worlds."
Jagex is best known as the developer of Runescape, but studio has started a third-party publishing deal under its Jagex Partners division. In August 2020, Jagex announced that this project with Flying Wild Hog would be the first title signed under this initiative.

Jagex and Flying Wild Hog have announced Space Punks, a cartoon-style action RPG set in an irreverent sci-fi world. The announcement comes in trailer form, which shows off the game's four playable characters. First up is Duke, a Star Lord-like handsome space man with a mini-gun. He's joined by three as-of-yet-unnamed friends, 'The Crazy One', who is a pig man with twin blasters, 'The Smart One', who is a sort of mantis-like alien who can warp-dash through enemies and deploy bomblets, and 'The Scary One', a woman with shadowy tentacles that can sprout from her back and stab enemies.
