Square Enix announces Bravely Default: Brilliant Lights for mobile devices
Square Enix has announced Bravely Default: Brilliant Lights, a free-to-play mobile game acting as the 10th-anniversary project for the Bravely Default series. No release date or English localization has been announced, but a closed beta test will take place soon in Japan.
Additionally, Square Enix reveals that the Bravely Default series has cumulatively surpassed 3 million unit sales.
The game features the same Brave & Default system found commonly in the series, optimized for smartphone play. Brilliant Lights will also feature characters from other Bravely Default titles, such as Edea from the 3DS entries and the playable cast of Bravely Default II. The game will also have original characters and an original story written by Keiichi Ajiro, who previously worked on Bravely Default and Bravely Second.
The debut trailer can be found below with screenshots in the gallery, including a key artwork drawn by Raita Kazama. An official Japanese Twitter account has also opened.
