Monster Hunter Rise for PC launches on January 12, 2022; details on upcoming collaborations and Sunbreak tidbits
During the TGS 2021 Monster Hunter Spotlight live stream, Capcom announced that the PC version of Monster Hunter Rise will launch on January 12, 2022. The game originally launched for Nintendo Switch worldwide on March 26, 2021. The Steam store page is here.
The footage highlighted that the PC port will offer 4K resolution support, high-resolution textures, high-framerates, ultrawide support, KB/M control, and voice chat. The PC release will include all of the DLC made to the Switch version of the game through November. For those curious, Capcom did not say anything about potential cross-save or cross-play compatibility between the Switch and PC versions of Monster Hunter Rise.
A free demo for the PC version will also be available on October 13, which will include both offline solo and online multiplayer (up to 4 players) and all 14 weapon types. Three different hunting quests will be available: Beginner (Great Izuchi), Intermediate (Mizutsune), Advanced (Magnamalo). The PC demo will also include both a “Training” option and a “Wyvern Riding” tutorial, for new players.
A Deluxe Edition is also available for pre-purchase on Steam, priced at $70, which includes a "Kamurai" Hunter layered armor set, "Shuriken Collar" Palamute layered armor piece, "Fish Collar" Palico layered armor piece, 4 Jumps Gesture, a Samurai pose set, Kabuki face paint, and "Izuchi Tail" hairstyle.
Additionally, Capcom offered just a few tidbits regarding the recently announced Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak. The expansion's new showcase elder dragon, seen in the teaser trailer, is known as Malzeno. Additionally, more returning monsters are said to appear in Sunbreak, with Capcom revealing Shogun Ceanataur during the stream.
Finally, Capcom revealed that the 5th Capcom Collaboration for Monster Hunter Rise will be with Ghost 'n Goblins. On October 29, an event quest will reward hunters with layered hunter armor that changes player appearance to Arthur. Capcom also teased an upcoming collaboration with Sonic the Hedgehog in November, though no further details were given at this time.
