Adult Swim and Crunchyroll release the first trailer for Shenmue The Animation

During a Shenmue panel at New York Comic-Con, Adult Swim and Crunchyroll have released the first trailer for Shenmue The Animation, set to air in 2022.

The 13-episode season will adapt the Shenmue story from the beginning, set to air on Adult Swim's Toonami block in the U.S and on Crunchyroll worldwide. If previous Adult Swim/Crunchyroll co-productions are any indication, the U.S. TV airing will be English-dubbed, while the Crunchyroll version will have Japanese voices and English subtitles. 

This anime adaptation was originally announced in September 2020, with production being done at Telecom Animation Film (Tower of God, Lupin the Third: Part 5) and directed by Chikara Sakurai (Magimoji Rurumo, One-Punch Man Season 2). Shenmue creator Yu Suzuki will act as Executive Producer for the project.
