Final Fantasy XIV: Endwalker launch delayed by two weeks
During a Live Letter presentation, Square Enix has announced that the launch of Final Fantasy XIV: Endwalker has been delayed by two weeks. The MMORPG expansion will now release on December 7, with the early access phase starting on December 3.
Producer/Director Naoki Yoshida emphasized that Endwalker is the largest expansion in the game's history, while also representing a sort of finality of the Hydaelyn/Zodiark saga - 11 years into the MMORPG's life. Everything is moving according to plan, but due to the expansion's ambition, Yoshida especially wanted to carefully examine the subtleties in this regard as a culmination of a storyline, which ate into master QA time, which necessitated the 2-week delay.
Square considered cuts or patches, but they wanted to prioritize quality.
