The Legend of Nayuta: Boundless Trails - Ad Astra launches for Switch in Japan in Spring 2022

Nihon Falcom will release Nayuta no Kiseki: Ad Astra for Nintendo Switch in Japan in Spring 2022. This port of The Legend of Nayuta: Boundless Trails will be the first-ever Switch port to be self-published by Falcom themselves.

Nihon Falcom usually lets other companies handle ports and localizations of their games. As evidenced by the PC release of Nayuta, which is entirely handled by NIS America. This Switch port of Nayuta will be the first time ever for Falcom to make and publish a port for the popular console entirely on their own. The company had previously stated this intention in their recent financial report.

In the Japanese press release, Falcom promised that the Switch port of Nayuta will have the same improvements made when they remastered the PlayStation Portable game to PlayStation 4. This includes better quality of audio and graphics, new cutscene illustrations, and—most importantly—a 60 fps frame rate.

Back in June, NIS America announced an English localization for The Legend of Nayuta: Boundless Trails coming to PlayStation 4, Switch, and PC in 2023. While the American branch has indicated that they will use the same Steam page to release the English port, it remains to be seen whether the PS4 and Switch releases will support multilanguage subtitles including Japanese or not.
