Monster Hunter Rise surpasses 8 million units shipped

Capcom has announced that Monster Hunter Rise has surpassed more than 8 million units shipped. The game hit the 7 million unit milestone in May 2021.

As expected, the recent release on Steam is cited as a major reason for reaching the next threshold, alongside continuing sales of the Nintendo Switch version.

Capcom Co., Ltd. (Capcom) today announced that Monster Hunter Rise for Nintendo Switch and PC (Steam) has shipped 8 million units worldwide.

The Monster Hunter series consists of hunting action games that pit players against giant monsters in a beautiful natural environment. Beginning with the first title in 2004, the series established a new genre in which players cooperate to hunt ferocious monsters with their friends and has since grown into a global phenomenon with cumulative sales of the series exceeding 78 million units shipped as of September 30, 2021.

Monster Hunter Rise was released for Steam, a PC platform with a broad global user base, on January 13, 2022*. Featuring high-resolution 4K support and voice chat functionality for PC, the game provided a fresh hunting experience that garnered praise from players while additionally growing the player base across a wide range of countries and regions. This, combined with sales of the Nintendo Switch version that was released in March 2021, drove global shipments of the game to surpass 8 million units.*Japan Standard Time

Going forward Capcom looks to further expand its player base with Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak, a massive premium expansion for this title that is slated for release in summer of 2022.
