Square Enix and Luminous Productions have released a new video and blog post for Forspoken, detailing technology demonstrated at the Game Developers Conference (GDC) 2022.

The video details various implemented technologies such as AMD FidelityFX Super Resolution, Microsoft DirectStorage, and other components including ambient occlusion, variable shading, & screen-space reflections.

Tech Demo "The Technologies of Forspoken" Unveiled
On Thursday, March 24th, 2022, Luminous Productions revealed a technology demonstration highlighting the latest AMD and Microsoft technologies utilized in Forspoken, the studio's debut title, at the Game Developers Conference (GDC) 2022, the world's largest conference for video game developers.
'The Technologies of Forspoken" showcases the technologies that are implemented into Forspoken, currently in development and scheduled for release on October 11, 2022, to provide players with the finest possible gaming environment.
The demo introduces viewers to AMD FidelityFX Super Resolution, Microsoft DirectStorage, and several other advanced technologies that Luminous Productions has incorporated in pursuit of the cutting-edge and a more pleasant and visually stunning gaming experience than ever before.

A breathtakingly beautiful world view realized with AMD FidelityFX Super Resolution 2.0
Forspoken's protagonist, Frey, uses magic parkour to traverse across a vast open world. To achieve an incredible sense of speed and exhilaration, the game supports AMD FidelityFX Super Resolution 2.0, an upscaling technology that aims to boost resolution and frame rates.
Delivering 4K resolution at a high frame rate, the feature conveys smooth, fluid movements while maintaining high quality down to the finest details.
