Atelier Sophie 2: The Alchemist of the Mysterious Dream sales surpass 200,000 units worldwide

Koei Tecmo has posted its financial results [PDF] for the full fiscal year ending March 31, 2022. Within those results, the publisher reveals that Atelier Sophie 2: The Alchemist of the Mysterious Dream has sold 200,000 units worldwide, including shipments and digital sales.

For some context within the Atelier series, last year's financial results (as of March 2021) showed that sales for Atelier Ryza 2: Lost Legends and the Secret Fairy had reached 360,000 units worldwide, and the original Atelier Ryza: Ever Darkness & the Secret Hideout had reached an estimated 640,000 units. Another Koei Tecmo & Gust RPG — Blue Reflection: Second Light — hit 120,000 units sold as of last quarter.

As a whole, Koei Tecmo's net sales, operating income, ordinary income, and net income all reached record highs, with significant profits for the year seen in the performance of the pubisher's mobile titles in Asia. 

Atelier Sophie 2: The Alchemist of the Mysterious Dream is now available for PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, and PC. In our review for the game, Paige stated that "Atelier Sophie 2 manages to synthesise old and new in a way befitting improvements to the franchise while leaving it comfortably with the rest of the Mysterious games".
