Square talks It's a Wonderful World and FF12 Sequel

Square-Enix have been talking to Japanese magazines about their two DS titles - "It's a Wonderful World" and the sequel to Final Fantasy XII, "Revenant Wings."

Much of the information on It's a Wonderful World focuses on the information on the gameplay that we earlier reported, but there is one new snippet of information - Tetsuya Nomura reports the game is currently 50% complete.

Another quick snip of news - the enemies in the game are called "noise." Nomura also promised the game would hit the DS in 2007.

Meanwhile news on the FFXII sequel on the Nintendo DS begins to trickle through. Motomu Toriyama, Director of Final Fantasy X and X-2 is directing this project and also writing the scenario story.

Supposedly, while the game will pick up shortly after the events of Final Fantasy XII, Toriyama refuses to call it "Final Fantasy XII-2" - prefering to think of it as a spin-off rather than a sequel.

The logo for the game is not going to be created by usual FF artist Yoshitaka Amano, but instead by the art director of FFXII.

Interestingly, Toriyama said that players will be able to control an airship from the very outset of the game. Vaan is set to be the clear lead character in this game, the focus on him while attempting to provide backstory to other FFXII characters in the process.

We'll bring you more on Square's DS offerings as we learn it.
