Xenoblade Chronicles 3 receives an 8-minute Overview Trailer highlighting its story premise, battle system, and exploration features
With the release of Xenoblade Chronicles 3 just around the corner, Nintendo has unveiled a new 8-minute overview trailer for the upcoming RPG. It provides a quick rundown on the basics of Monolith Soft's next game.
At the start, the trailer quickly recaps the story information shared in the Nintendo Direct dedicated to it from late June. In the new world of Aionios, the two nations of Keves and Agnus fight each other endlessly to stay alive. Every person lives to fight the moment they are born in Aionios as they are conscripted to their armies. In Xenoblade Chronicles 3, the story revolves around six soldiers - half from Keves and half from Agnus; a key event changes their lives forever to kick off the plot.
Then the overview trailer briefly covers the battle system in Xenoblade Chronicles 3. Returning players will see that the series staple Break, Topple, Launch, Smash combo will also be in the latest entry. Additionally, characters will possess the ability to fuse with each other into a powerful Ouroboros form. The Ouroboros can learn new skills in their Soul Trees.
Characters in Xenoblade Chronicles 3 can change classes. They are able to switch to their ally's classes and their outfit will change along with it, though players will be able to manually override that if they prefer the look of another class on them. Players meet addtional party members along the way as Heroes, which have their own unique class that their characters can switch into and learn their abilities.
Some beautiful locations are teased very briefly in the new trailer and a few exploration mechanics are laid out. At rest spots, the party can craft equippable gems to raise their stats, cook meals to gain temporary bonus effects, and discuss information they have heard to accept side quests.
There is only a few days left till the release of Xenoblade Chronicles 3 on July 29 for the Nintendo Switch.
