Here's Mass Effect 3's 'Against All Odds' VGAs Trailer
As previously announced, Bioware took the opportunity to show off two major upcoming games at a frat party secretly disguised as a video game awards ceremony. Most of the attention was focused on the announcement from the studio that they were taking control of the Command & Conquer series to bring their brand of narrative intensity to the real time strategy genre, but they also took the time to share a short gameplay clip from Mass Effect 3 titled 'Against All Odds'.
The clip shows Shepard, Garrus and new-guy Vega blasting through what we think is Tuchanka as a smaller-sized Reaper cruises overhead causing mass destruction. There's a mad dash to hit a button, and then Shepard's crew's lives are saved by an unlikely ally - a Thresher Maw, one of the gigantic space worms that players would've likely bumped into a few times during Mass Effect and during Grunt's Loyalty Quest in Mass Effect 2.
It all looks pretty damn impressive, though there isn't an RPG element in sight in this action-focused video. Before pouring hatred in the comments, be sure to read our hands-on preview where we looked at the RPG elements in more detail - they are definitely still there.
Check out the full video below. Mass Effect 3's out on March 6th in the US and March 9th in Europe, while a demo will arrive at some undetermined point between now and then. The full game is available for pre-order now. Remember you can see all the ME3 Screens, Videos and Artwork over in the Media Vault and Stick with us for the latest on it as it nears launch!
