Naoki Yoshida reminds players Final Fantasy XVI is only announced for PlayStation 5
It's probably inevitable that Final Fantasy XVI will eventually release on PC sometime after the PlayStation 5 release; the game's original reveal trailer even listed that the game would be available on PC, and that the game was only exclusive to PlayStation 5 at launch. However, the most recent discussion surrounding the game's exclusivity - the idea that it might last only 6 months - has led the game's producer, Naoki Yoshida, to chime in on whether or not players should worry about whether the game will remain exclusive to PlayStation 5 or not.
Twitter user @Genki_JPN translated a video clip from a recent Final Fantasy XIV livestream, where Yoshida lets off some steam over comments surrounding a PC version of the game:
Nobody said a word about a PC version releasing. Why is it like a PC version is releasing 6 months later? Don't worry about that, buy a PS5! (laughs) Sorry, I went overboard. We did our best so please look forward to it!
Now this of course doesn't actually change the idea that the game will likely release on PC later, but the reminder is clear; if you want to play Final Fantasy XVI, the only platform it's currently announced for is PlayStation 5. It will release on June 22, 2023 - exclusively for PlayStation 5.
