Xenoblade Chronicles 3's Expansion Pass trailer details new hero, teases crowd-pleasing wave 4 story
During today's Nintendo Direct presentation, we got a new trailer for the final two waves of Xenoblade Chronicles 3 Expansion Pass content. While the eShop listing for the DLC already gave slight details about what the Wave 3 and Wave 4 packs would ultimately contain, today's new trailer provided a lot more detail about what to expect from each, including a lot of crowd-pleasing cameos seemingly on the way in Wave 4.
Wave 3 of the expansion pass will introduce the new hero Masha, who is a Lapidarist (gemcutter), who can use special ore to craft new accessories. Wave 3 will also introduce a rogue-lite mode, where new throwback costumes can be earned by completing the new set of challenges.
A quick teaser of the end of the trailer for the upcoming Wave 4 showcases a lot of series cameos in a high-stakes confrontation, while a new screenshot summarizing the content details it as an "All New Original Story with a New Cast". To what extent this will tie into the events of the series as a whole remains to be seen.
Wave 3 of the Xenoblade Chronicles 3 Expansion Pass will launch on February 15, while Wave 4 is slated for later this year.
The latest volume of the Xenoblade Chronicles 3 Expansion pass comes features the Archsage's Gauntlet, a new mode featuring challenging battles with roguelike elements. Expansion Pass Volume 3 releases on February 15.
