NIS America announces PC release for Japanese version of The Legend of Heroes: Kuro no Kiseki
NIS America has announced that The Legend of Heroes: Kuro no Kiseki is now available for Steam in Japan. The PC port is being handled by Peter 'Durante' Thoman and his company PH3, the same developer who has done recent ports for several Falcom titles in the Trails and Ys series.
The PC port will include many options often seen with PH3's ports, including full mouse & keyboard controls, support for various resolutions including ultrawide, up to 360fps support, enhanced auto-save, and many configuration options.
This news may require a bit of clarifcation, so bear with me.

Don't it get confused, this is not quite an offcial English localization announcement, not yet. Put simply, at current, NIS America is handling the PC port for the Japanese audience, and this is their announcement of it.

You may be wondering "didn't Kuro no Kiseki release for PC last year?" Yes, but that was for the Asian audience by Clouded Leopard Entertainment. This version has a separate Steam page and does not support Japanese text, only voices. In fact, many recent Falcom titles have two listings on Steam, one for Clouded Leopard's Asian version, one for NISA's JP/EN version.

It's also not quite the same situation as The Legend of Nayuta: Boundless Trails, which was released by NIS America on Steam in December 2021, but only in Japanese. This port was released after NIS America had already announced plans for a localization. The port is still currently Japanese only, but has long-announced plans be updated to English later this year.
All that said, those eagerly awaiting an English localization of Kuro no Kiseki *do* have a nugget of hope here. In Falcom's announcement of the new PC port, the company mentions that English will be added to the port at an undecided later date. NIS America makes no mention of this, but it seems all-but confirmed that NIS America will handle the English localization, and that an announcement is forthcoming.
Finally, you can check out some new screenshots from the Steam page below. Hopefully an actual localization announcement is not too far away.
