Star Wars Jedi: Survivor final gameplay trailer sees Cal take on new friends and foes
Star Wars Jedi: Survivor inches closer to its official release date on April 28, 2023, and Electronic Arts has released the "final" gameplay trailer for Cal Kestis' latest adventure. The new trailer shows off moments of both narrative and gameplay, as Cal takes on new foes as well as old.
Check it out below.
The Star Wars Jedi: Survivor trailer quickly catches viewers up with Cal's status. Five years have passed since the events of Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order, when Cal came out of hiding to defend a hidden Jedi secret from the Empire. Having completed his Jedi training, Cal sports a new beard and an old mission: Resist the forces of the Emperor.
The trailer shows him facing off against various kinds of Imperial Stormtrooper, fighting them across various planets on foot, and even while riding a speeder bike. He also faces off against enemies of Clone Wars-vintage, taking on a pair of rolling Droideka battle droids. Cal makes major new foes, as well, like a large armored warrior named Rayvis, and a Rancor, a monster native to the planet of Dathomir and first seen onscreen in 1983's Star Wars: Return of the Jedi. The presence of a Rancor, as well as scenes where Cal fights alongside the Dathomiri Nightsister Merrin, suggests that players of Star Wars Jedi: Survivor may visit the planet once again at some point.
The gameplay trailer shows more combat alongside Cal's allies. He and Merrin team up to take down an Imperial security droid, while he meets up with another ally to fight troopers in a stark white industrial environment. Cal also appears to visit Coruscant, the capital planet of the Republic (now the Empire). Visuals of the former Jedi temple draped in Imperial symbols are also in the trailer.
Star Wars Jedi: Survivor launches for the PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC on April 28, 2023. Check out RPG Site's preview of the game.
