The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom's 3rd trailer gets deeper into detail
Nintendo presented the most substantial look yet at The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom with the game's third official trailer. Previous trailers mostly showed off brief gameplay demonstrations and vague allusions to the narrative. The latest one, by comparison, is a veritable blowout of story, quest, and mechanic footage, just short of some other games' infamously comprehensive "overview" trailers.
Check it out below, but be warned: Fans who want to preserve the sense of mystery may wish to refrain.
Some highlights from the trailer besides story beats include seeing Link hop among floating stones suspended high in the sky, as well as using the glider to approach what looked to be a large spherical flying construct, aligning with its rotation in mid-air. Others include Link skydiving down a tunnel filled with laser beams, and dueling an enemy while riding a mine cart. Other bits and pieces include more use of the Fuse power demonstrated in late March, as well as Link's use of what seems to be the Recall ability to change the course of a flying bomb. Link is also seen fighting alongside allies in real-time, a change of pace from the more solitary vibe of Breath of the Wild.
The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom launches for Nintendo Switch on May 12, 2023.
