Dragon's Dogma 2 gets first gameplay trailer at PlayStation Showcase 2023
Announced about one year ago during the 10 Years of Dragon's Dogma Digital Event, Capcom gave fans a long-awaited first-look trailer for Dragon's Dogma 2 during today's PlayStation Showcase 2023. The new footage is our first-ever look at the follow-up to 2012's cult-classic action RPG, as well as a smattering of voice-over and lore information for fans to speculate on.
Set forth on your grand adventure, Arisen! Dragon’s Dogma is a single player, narrative driven action-RPG that challenges the players to choose their own experience – from the appearance of their Arisen, their vocation, their party, how to approach different situations and more. On your journey, you’ll be joined by pawns, mysterious otherworldly beings, in an adventure so unique you will feel as if accompanied by other players while on your own adventure. All of these elements are elevated further by the latest in graphics, artificial intelligence (AI) and physics technology to create a truly immersive fantasy world in Dragon’s Dogma 2.
Capcom confirmed last year that much of the original staff behind Dragon's Dogma would return for the sequel, including Director Hideaki Itsuno, Art Director Daigo Ikeno, and Kenichi Suzuki as Project Lead. Alongside the first-look trailer today, Capcon announced that Dragon's Dogma 2 will be a single-player narrative driven action-RPG. Both the Pawn system and monster climbing (of course) will return in the sequel as well. Finally, it was also reiterated that Dragon's Dogma 2 is built on Capcom's RE ENGINE.
Today's news revealed that Dragon's Dogma 2 is currently slated for release on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and on PC via Steam, though a release window has not been announced.
