Destiny 2 Season of the Deep features PlayStation cosmetic DLC
The latest wave of Destiny 2 content debuted earlier this week with Destiny 2 Season of the Deep. The new expansion adds more story, new activities and gear, and brings players back to the long-lost moon of Titan. Alongside Season of the Deep, Bungie also revealed some fruits of their 2022 acquisition by Sony: PlayStation-themed cosmetic items.
The items are part of what Bungie calls the "Endless Roamer" collection. Players can get it through the Eververse store, paying for the cosmetics with Silver, Destiny 2's premium microtransaction currency. The centerpiece of the collection is a set of three cosmetic outfits, one for each player class, and patterned after popular Sony franchises. The outfits are armor ornaments, which can be applied to any Legendary armor piece freely.
The Warlock set is called the Ancestral Warlock set, and its patterned after the appearance of characters from Ghost of Tsushima. The Warlock's robe even includes a decorative katana emblazoned with the Sakai clan's emblem. The Hunter set is called the Anointed Hunter set, and is based on the Horizon series' Nora tribe. The home tribe of protagonist Aloy, the set includes a decorative arrow quiver, the distinctive ceramic-tile patterns, and light blue cording used by Aloy and other Nora tribespeople. The Titan set is called the Godsbane Titan set, and is based on God of War's Kratos. The armor set is mainly chrome and metallic but features a bright red stripe on the head and shoulder mimicking Krato's tattoo design.
The PlayStation references continue in non-armor cosmetics, as well. The Endless Roamer collection also includes a bundle of Ship, Ghost Shell, and Sparrow that heavily features the cordyceps fungus made famous by The Last of Us. God of War, Ghost of Tsushima, and Horizon animations are also referenced in a three-pack of finisher animations. Even Ratchet and Clank gets a nod in the form of an emote referencing the series' golden bolt collectible.
Destiny 2 is available on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S. Check out RPG Site's review of the latest Lightfall expansion.
