Pokemon Home update adds compatibility with Pokemon Scarlet and Violet
The official Pokemon Home cloud service has been updated to version 3.0 as of May 30, 2023. The update brings some long-awaited compatibility with the current mainline games, Pokemon Scarlet and Pokemon Violet. The update is rolling out to users on mobile platforms and the Nintendo Switch. It should update automatically, though to reduce server load, The Pokemon Company clarified that some regions may receive the update as late as the morning of May 31, 2023.
The update introduces Pokemon Scarlet and Violet compatibility. Users will be able to see the new original Pokemon from those games, as well as the Paldean variants. Previously, the service only supported Pokemon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl, Pokemon Sword and Shield, and Pokemon Legends: Arceus. Additional features, like a Move Reminder, and user interface updates, are also included. One update to the UI allows Pokemon Home users to view the stats of a Pokemon based on the games it's been in. New challenges and stickers will keep players engaged, as well.
Here are the full patch notes, as seen on the service's Google Play store page:
Pokémon Home - mobile (Version 3.0.0):
- Added compatibility with Pokémon Scarlet and Pokémon Violet
- Added a feature that allows players to view a Pokémon's stats from different games it's been in
- Added Challenges and stickers
- Other issues have also been addressed in order to ensure a user-friendly experience
