For a little bit of context, that places Octopath Traveler II in the same sales range as Triangle Strategy and Bravely Default II, each of which hit the 1 million mark shortly after their PC release, although Octopath II released on more platforms simultaneously. The original Octopath Traveler was announced to have reached 3 million units as of September 2022, revealed on the same day when the sequel was announced.
We currently don't know what Square Enix's "Asano Team" is working on, although it has been two years since the announcement of Dragon Quest III HD-2D Remake.
