Adventure game Quest Master lets you create Zelda-style dungeons
Publisher Apogee Entertainment and developer Skydevilpalm announced Quest Master, a new sandbox adventure game headed for PC and Nintendo Switch. The game will allow players to use a built-in toolset to create their own dungeons in the style of top-down action-RPGs like the Legend of Zelda titles.
Check out the game's announcement trailer below:
The trailer shows off a hero plumbing a dungeon in a manner reminiscent of an SNES-era Zelda title, only to be stymied by an impassable barrier. The hero then prompts the player to add a lever to the dungeon that he can pull to lower the barrier. Footage of the game's toolset and placement options is also shown off, with eight unique tile sets on offer. Players of Quest Master can place enemies, items, traps, puzzle gimmicks, and rewards at their leisure. NPCs, dialog options, and customizable content like signs will also be available.
Dungeons created in Quest Master can be tackled solo or via multiplayer for parties of up to three. Created quests and dungeons can also be shared online.
Apogee says that a playable demo will be available on PC via Steam "soon". Quest Master will enter Steam's Early Access program in the third quarter of 2023, with a "1.0" release on both PC and Nintendo Switch at a later date.
